As part of my campaign, I've set up a "news" site where my current players can make comments (in character) about events, advertisements, and the like...
Currently, I've got a couple of my old players interacting with them, as their old characters and everyone has been having a lot of fun with this. If anyone is interested in helping out by making comments in character (one of your old characters, a character from the established universe, etc...), you're more than welcome to come join the fun and we'd love to have you. The players have been warned that any and all comments made here, do effect the campaign and that all the NPC characters do exist in our campaign world (not that they will get to meet them, only that they are out there.) Here's a link for the ShadowTalk: http://fromtheshadowsrpg.blogspot.com/ If you're interested in what's going on in the campaign, here's a link to the online sourcebook (with downloadable maps, character art, game synopsis, etc...) http://fromtheshadowsrpggm.blogspot.com/ Thanks in advance! |

edrift, do you have a computer available at the table when you play for your players to access the news info while the game is going on or do they have to access it on their own time?
I really like the site (and I'll probably end up posting something on their as one of my old characters). This is exactly the kind of stuff I'm looking for. |

For now, I have a Dell Axim X50 (pocket PC) hooked into our wireless network that everyone can use to search the posts (labels are damn handy). Eventually, I would like to get a laptop as well.
The players post to this on their own time and it essentially extends the game beyond our table-top time. |

Oooh. I might borrow bits of it to use in my own game--is that alright with you?
And I'll be replying as some of my characters--PCs and NPCs alike. |

HAHA, loving the posts you guys are coming up with, Sterling for one.
I post as a player, but also do world posts under Meta-Human News Network. I should also say, that I can contribute to this blog and if you want to be a "Freelance Reporter" for Meta-Human News Network, write a news story (If it warrants, I'll illustrate it), and take your place as a contributor through me. Think of me as your Editor-in-Chief. I'll give you credit under any name you desire. PM me if you've got any questions. |

Kronk2 - Send me a PM with the "ads" that you would like to add or send them to Begby. As long as they fit within the setting - I have no problems adding them.
bibliophile20 - love the stuff you're posting! :D |

*grin* Here, here's a thread that you can use to add to your news stories: Gossip in the Shadows; some good stuff on there--I've been using some of it in my own campaign to pad out the screamsheet handouts

Kudos, DS, thanks for the support! |

I have a game I've been running here that has regular news articles included. Usually little plot hooks, like a rise in Loup Garou attacks, an antique Thompson machine gun stolen from a museum, dragon sightings, that sort of thing. Only issue is that it's set in New Orleans. I take it this is all Seattle based? |

fistandantilus3.0 - For now, the blog is focused on Seattle news. If the players ever decide that they need to get out of town, then I'm sure things will change.

Just wanted to brag a little (for) Tim Keller who recently illustrated the group from our blog and game, From The Shadows.
The crew consists of: Toq: a gremlinized panther spirit shaman. Jambi: an adept who loves monofilament whips. Begby: a bull-headed ork street sammy/rigger mix with an addiction to hovercrafts. Lars: a technomancer with frightening sensibilities. GM is: edrift101 It's available here to see: From The Shadows Runners by Tim Keller at DeviantART |

now I have to decide a) how many accounts to make, and b) what they should each be doing.
I'll be posting world info when I get started, maybe I'll try to get my players in on it too. |

No need to create a bunch of different accounts Slash_Thompson. Just select "other" and fill in whatever handle you want to use for that post.

ExquisiteWreckuisite is a dirty human hacker/rigger with an addiction to sex and porn. Just as an FYI. I hope you don't mind the crudeness he brings to his comments sometimes.
