I'm looking for pictures that will help me better visualize what 2070 looks like in terms of buildings and such. When I first started playing my GM described it like Sharn from Eberron but more modern...now that I'm reading and looking through things, I'm thinking that it's more like if you took downtown charlotte and spread it over a huge area...I dunno how right I am.

Check out Ghost in the Shell. It's pretty close.

This picture blew my mind when I saw it. Believe it or not, this is Tokyo...today!
http://flickr.com/photos/altus/322152193/ I imagine that in dystopia 2070, every major cityplex would look like the DMZ of a war between the Borg and Coca Cola. I second Ghost in the Shell, that is a well thought out film about a cyber future. Also, check out Bladerunner, it's still holds up very well. http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Blade_Runner |

Also if you can stand subtitles, the japanese version of Ghost in the Shell is better than the dubbed. The voice acting in the japanese version is far superior and the dialog is quite different, touching on more adult subjects like racism. It's nearly a different movie.

Hah, that HDR photo of Tokyo you linked was my desktop wallpaper for a time while I was writing some of the Neo-Tokyo section of the upcoming Corp Enclaves book. |

Cool, I still have that shot of Tokyo as wallpaper. People keep asking me if it's a scene from a scifi movie or anime. Nope, the future is now! Cool blog and nice shots of Hong Kong by the way. I'll have to wallpaper those too. |

I'm not sure if it's a time lapse photo, but I'm pretty sure all those ads have put half the crowd into epileptic seisures! I love the sign that's just a picture of a blue dog and a purple dog and a caption that says "All the Best Chemistry" |

It is, and isn't, a time lapso picture. In fact, is a HDR picture. To make a HDR picture one needs to shot many pictures of the same place with different shuttertime and apperture configurations, resulting in many photos with different light range. Then he process all those pictures into a HDR picture, that mean High Dinamic Range Picture. They're awasome to use with CG. |

I think this picture demonstrates exactly how much AR spam can hurt your eyes... even though there is obviously no AR in the picture. |

This isn't some city of the future.
It's Shanghai. They really like that year 3000 look over there. -karma |
