For the first time ever, robots with guns have been deployed in war. More like “remote controlled cars with guns, but this headline is better. Article includes fun “Exterminate! Exterminaaaaate! video action.

Cute puppy.

I want to see one of these take a spray of bullets. How robust are they?

Can they hit a moving target. How about when they themselves move and shoot, hit anything?

A great first step, but definately just a first step.

And aren't they a little excited when they say its the "first" weaponized robot? - Don't the south koreans have sentry bots already?

didn't the US already have the exact same thing (conceptually) except that it was a UAV instead of a bomb squad robot, and it has a missile (or two, as i understand it) instead of a gun? (in fact, someone commenting on this thing makes that exact point)

It's the first robot that carries a gun in war. Emphasis on gun too. Predator UAV air drones were outfitted with hellfire missiles years ago with spectacular results in the Iraq war.

It needs to be more giant. Robots are cool but giant robots are better.

Dammit, 8 foot tall robots aren't cute! I learned that the hard way with the failure of my colossal Tammy Tinkle doll.

So is that big enough to be a Doberman? Or is that full-on Steel Lynx already?

A giant laser sword, with guns on it, that shoots other swords, and is on fire.
