I see the sample drugs in 4th ed... but I can't find availability or price for them... Which makes things tough when somebody wants to have a mild addiction to cram or kamakaze... much less consider just buying some...

Any clue as to the page with typical street costs for this stuff?

Ok but that's third ed... is there a formula to convert 5/4 (target number 5, 4 days) to SR4?

Because I just don't see how to do the conversion.

If a character wishes to purchase a controlled item on the
black market, make a Negotiation + Charisma Extended Test
with a threshold equal to the Availability and an interval based
on the item’s cost (see the Availability Interval table, p. 303).

You could convert your characters back to SR3 ;)

(You'd also probably have to convert the costs, as what I saw of the gear in SR4 had radically different costs)

Hopefully these SR3 prices will be fixed too. My mage certainly does not want to spend between 10 and 20k per month on Psyche. 500/dose - ouch.

Target number 5, 4 days per test. That was a rather easy test under previous editions.

- if he calls a/his dealer, the GM decides on the availability. Illicit or not, this is very much handled like a real business ("Freakonomics" is a must-read). Product shortages are caused by law enforcement.

- if he goes to town he has to roll the dice in order to find someone selling. I assume one goes to certain hangouts and asks around. Likely a two-step process of locating someone who does look like a dealer and then convincing him to sell some product. Much fun to be had with undercover cops / agents / scammers. And legal citizens who are not amused by the accusation of drug dealing. At all. I´d run this as CHA+Etiquette tests with variable target numbers depending on the paranoia and professionalism of the dealer.

To be explicit - No, there is no conversion formula, and drug prices for SR4 do not exist anywhere, not have there been any errata/faq/supplement to deal with them.

Run a search on the forums for Drug Prices, as it comes up every 2 months or so. I'm sure there have been some prices and availabilities suggested.

If it weren't for the insanely crippling addiction rules, the cost would be far too low. It's a cheap drug that offers, in addition to a decently powerful bonus for the Awakened, an extra point of the most powerful attribute in the game for a minimum of an hour. It's no street drug.
