Manias? Those are pretty much compulsions with a rules system that works the same as addictions right? The reason I ask is because I'd like to use them but none of the book stores or Amazon look like they ar eever going be carrying Augmentation so I'll prolly end up not picking it up... ever. Which blows.

I have a player in my game who seems right up the alley for a mania but we had to give her an 'addiction' instead since mania were not included in the BBB.

As for the character...
A dwarf with an addiction to Alchohol... how original.
He speaks 'Elven'...
Knows Tai Chi...
Has knowledge of the Incan Empire...

Let me guess... all that and he's from New York?

Seriously, the character is well made, very well made, but his cultural diversity (although it's not a bad thing) seems spread over the entire globe. What was this guy before being a runner?

@Hartbaine

Yes, Manias and Phobias have similar mechanics to Addictions, but not identical; think a cross between Addictions and Allergies and you're on the right track.

As for the Elven, people were laughing at the reason further up-topic (i.e. he wants to curse and swear at Elves in their own language).

The Tai Chi comes from the first version of the character, which had him as a mystic adept with a decent unarmed combat score, and the Incan Empire bit is because he's obsessed with gold.

As for what he was before he became a runner, he was an enchanter. That occasionally went hunting for telsma. Specifically, gold.

:D

@toturi

:rotfl: I'm going to run that by the player as an idea for roleplaying the character; we've already decided on the character's favorite drinks: Gold Strike, GoldSchlager, and Goldwasser.

Cursing at elves in their own language may be cool and that, but nothing replaces the good ol' middy.

Replaces? No. Supplements? Yes.

That reminds me, there's a major flaw in his design. He needs the specialization "profanity" on his Sperethiel.

His gear looks pretty good, but I would probably take 500 from what he has for clothing and get at least one month of Squatter lifestyle. Street lifestyle is pretty precarious, especially for a character with stuff that might be worth stealing. Yeah, his background may be that he lost everything in the crash, but I think a Squatter or even a Low lifestyle would still fit in with that.

Oh, a tangent... anyone else find it hilarious that the Street Shaman archetype has "Street Lifestyle (2 Months)"? Gotta love how they specify how many months of a free lifestyle she has. :rotfl:

We're using the Custom Lifestyle rules from the Sprawl Survival Guide to specify and detail the character lifestyles; he has a 980 :nuyen: /month custom style, and he's already been hired by the team leader.

So will the street shaman get kicked out of the streets if she doesn't pay rent?

An estimate on how long he intends to be dumpster diving? *shrug* :|

I'd love to see the legal jargon running in that eviction notice. :rotfl:
