OK, this may seem questionable as to what forum it belongs, but it really relates to the forums and the users themselves so I thought it should go here. With other topics in this section addressing moderator actions, this topic seems to fit here.

Who has gotten a moderator warning? How many?

1) tisoz, too many to remember, but about 1 or 2 a year, so 10-15 maybe.

At least over the years they have gotten more obvious as to what the problem was. I remember saying WTF are they warning me about? to the first few. The last few have been more you have to be kidding in that it seems like we are being over moderated at times.

I have not been suspended, yet. Not counting self-imposed suspensions. If you want to 'fess up to suspensions, that might be interesting, too.

i used to get suspended a lot--that's why i'm mfb, now, instead of motorfirebox. getting out of the military has reduced my stress load and made me a little less, ah, intense, so i don't think i've even gotten a warning in months. i pretty much asked for all my warnings and suspensions.

i think the funniest mod-related moment was when someone complained that old-time users like me and SL James were less likely to get suspended/banned.

I have participated in discussions that got mod warnings, but AFAIK I wasn't one of the offending parties.
I thought I was, once, because IMO I was toeing the line, but I PMed eidolon for clarification and to apologize and was informed that the warning comment wasn't really intended for me in the first place.
So unless I'm completely forgetting something, I've never gotten a mod warning, private or otherwise.
If anyone remembers one that I don't, feel free to remind me. ;-)

I'm a good boy.

Sure I have been a participant in threads that have received warnings (as has pretty much anybody ... especially in the old Lounge days), but only once have I received one personally directed towards me (merited or not is something I feel I don't need to discuss). No PM warnings (other than clarifications initiated by myself), and no suspensions in all my time here. :)

I... have never been warned. Surprising, given how many rules threads I have been in have been issued warnings. Maybe I need to work harder.

I am waiting to hear from about a dozen people I suspected had been warned, several times even.

I wondered if many people got PM warnings when I heard about some that had been issued, or moreso when I was surprised to hear someone had been suspended.

And probably my worst behavior never got a moderator PM warning, thread warning, suspension or ban. Maybe that's why some of the recent moderator decisions seem so overblown.

I've never gotten a PMed warning, a publicly posted warning, a temporary suspension, or a permanent account ban. Ever.

In other news, I'm a compulsive liar.

I've had a few warnings when I don't notice myself getting out of line. Only one ban in recent memory (I think I may have had one years ago when I stepped into a Lounge debate), but that's because I usually calm down and stop even before moderators step in, or do so when they ask if I haven't.

Never had a ban or warning on record. I was talking with a certain moderator over the phone when he noticed one of my posts, told me if I didnt change it , then I would get a warning. Havent had much trouble since then. Im pretty sure Im getting one soon, though. :rotfl:

No warnings here. If someone asks a question, I try to answer it to the best of my ability. Consequently, when a topic has gone beyond answering a question to a train wreck in progress as I have seen on these forums more times than I can count over the years, I try to not get involved.

The closest I think I got to a warning (no one came out and said it but I know when I'm dancing in the gray spaces) is when SR4 was announced. My voice was heard loudly and clearly calling a few people at GenCon So Cal liars. A few hours later, when I had calmed down, I sent a few PM apologies and posted into the same thread apologizing.

There are times when we allow our real lives to cloud our judgment and we decide that it is easier to blame someone else's statements for our own emotions, but we are the ones who choose how we feel and what we say. Knowing the rules that we must all abide by, we must each decide when we push "add reply" whether the consequences of what we say are worth the fleeting satisfaction of the moment.

Not counting public (ie non-person specific) warnings, one warning and one (two day) ban. Planning on keeping it that way - I needs my fix man! ;)

(Fun fact: When banned, your IP is banned and you can't even view the forum - at least that's the way it was for me)

I think I was warned about a funny spelling error once. I'm hoping that one day I'll get mod status so I can warn and ban myself and just try it out. (As an aside, on that day I can ban WR too, so we can be cool together.) I heard they take your internet persona and actually plug it into simsense to feed you an artificially created environment that will help you readjust to society, is that true?

...no directed warning,...yet...though I do admit to making threads take the unexpected left turn on occasion and for that I apologise.

But Like ZhanShi said I also have participated in a few threads that were eventually shut down for other reasons.

So have I. I'm pretty sure just about everyone has at some point. I made some smart ass comment something like two years ago that prompted Adam to close a thread and glare at me. :D Guess it wasn't that big a deal.

I was doing some digging in the archives. Came across a thread about ED/SR crossovers. Someone, I can't remember the name, was proposing a set of theories. It turned into a long, drawn out argument that makes Moleskin look like a walk in the park. When Lou Prosperi logged on to put in his two cents worth, he got hammered something terrible. Egads, what a mess.

Yes, the infamous Master Shake thread. Can't recall for certain but I think it was the second one he did. His first one proposed he become the new SR Line Developer, - OR - that was was a god or some crap.
