NPC Street Docs, As inspired by the Street Doc thread Options

I really got a kick out of reading Doctor Funkenstein's Ms. Stitch street doc NPC and though it would be rather cool to make thread for everyone to post up some thoughts/npcs on it. Street docs and the healing process itself has always been an on-the-side and little explored area and I think trying to add some color and flavor into our games on this front might be rather nice.

"Dr. Bob" has a clinic on the west edge of the Redmond Barrens. He charges shadowrunners and other illegal crime figures full price, to subsidize his service to the homeless and the SINless. Unlike the alcoholic or incompetent Street Docs of Seattle, Dr. Bob is reputable, committed, and fully trained in Veterinary Medicine.

On any given day, his success in treating the runners is fully up to whatever the GM wants in order to progress the storyline.

I'm a little surprised this hasn't become almost a stereotype in and of itself, but what about the homeopathic street doc? Not the guy you'd go to when you want the wiz new piece of ware put in, but the guy who knows all about accupuncture, herbs, and all sorts of other alternative (if not necessarily magical) medicine. His low price, lack of official paperwork, and possibly morals would make him preferable to your generic street doc for most people who'd need his help.

Alexis Covington wasn't always your typical street doc. About ten years ago, she was the defacto plastic surgeon in Hollywood. If it wasn't for the fact that she just happened to goblinize late in life, right in the middle of some critical surgery on the governers wife, chances are she'd still be earning the big bucks in the Sunshine State. But as it turned out, maiming a high profile face in a country full of prejudiced bastards tends to be frowned upon. She had little choice beyond moving away and opening a clinic somewhere else.

These days, Alexis — known better as Ms. Stitch on the streets — runs a shadow clinic in a secret basement underneath the house on her husband Jonathon's farm in Snohomish. There she offers her rather remarkable services to shadowy clients willing to pay her modest fees. She offers a substantial discount for fellow orks and trolls, as she now understands the prejudices they face and wishes to do all she can to help her fellows out.

In addition to her surgical talents, Ms. Stitch has developed numerous contacts in the local underworld dealing with medicine, organlegging, and the like. What she doesn't keep in storage herself (and she has a very significant stockpile of medical equipment and drugs), she can get in record time if the price is right. She has also hinted that she knows where the delta clinic in Istanbul is and who you need to get in touch with to gain access to it, but so far that's all it is — a hint.
