In 1991, FASA released a promotional VHS tape to comic/hobby shops across the United States. The video contained an ultra-low-budget short film entitled "Shadowrun: A Night's Work". To date it is the only known "official" Shadowrun film ever produced. It's tacky, slow-moving, and poorly acted -- but anyone who's a fan of Shadowrun will realize how valuable a find this recording is. Readers of the novels and Shadowrun history buffs will be thrilled to see fan-favorite Sally Tsu, elven mage and former Yakuza enforcer, in her first and only on-screen appearance.

Very few people even know this movie exists, let alone have seen it. When I first heard wind of it, I scoured Google in search of anything related to the movie...screenshots, audio snippets, maybe even a synopsis...and came up blank. But now the #S-Run Shadowrun Community is proud to bring it to fans everywhere!

Go to www.s-run.com to download this small piece of Shadowrun history. You can also find other Shadowrun fan films there -- with English subtitling courtesy of #S-Run. Stay tuned for more flicks coming...including "Todesvision" and "Cat & M.I.C.E", with subtitling work currently underway on both fan films.

Special thanks to Bjoern Fuhrmeister, who is responsible for the DVD transfer of this rarest-of-rare Shadowrun film.

Wow. My bandwith is terrible but if I can get it I will.

If I had the courage to reach my full potential in the world instead of always holding myself back, I'd direct some Shadowrun porn. There'd be a porn actress portraying a lesbian ninja elf who wears Spock ears during the production.

EDIT: Bah, 300 megs is not something I can easily do. Not tonight, anyway...

It'll be there in the morning, bro. =)

Besides, 300MB isn't bad for a DVD rip from a VHS master.

Also: There were some linkage issues within the first 15 or so minutes of posting. Anyone who got a 404 error when trying to download the movie won't have a problem anymore.

Wow it was like going back in time and watching Cinemax err I mean staying up late and watching Cinemax. Honestly reminded me of when vhs first came out and all low budget wanna be action movies were on the shelf.

Matrix stuff was interesting some of imagery was used as still photos for some of sourcebooks if I'm not mistaken.

If this is what I think it is, I saw it when Tom Dowd made a rare appearance, when he arrived at ICON & did his SR/BT promotional. I'll wait until someone posts it on YouTube.

Yeah, for anyone having trouble with the file, it's just a straight DVD rip. you can burn the folders onto a disc and play it in any DVD player that supports DVD +/- R.

Use any standard video program to view it (WMP, PowerDVD, WinDVD, etc etc etc).

I like it, but I'm not so sure it would attract a lot of players to SR these days.

It's also real cool to see some more of the VR icons from the Virtual Realities book.

That would scare the bejesus out of me if I didn't already know all about Shadowrun and was used to 'influence' me into playing the game. It is quite frankly the most horrible, most disgustingly trashy crap I have had the misfortune of watching since I got drunk and watched six movies in my Steven Seagal collection back to back without fast-forwarding once.

Well done for finding this.

It's value isn't so much based on its coolness factor than the fact of just what it is...The only official Shadowrun film ever recorded. I believe any true fan should at least see it once...Just think, Shadowrunners world wide now have their own 'Star Wars Holiday Special'! =D

Personally, I think Tor3 is the best Shadowrun film created to date.

Superfly, you've delivered unto the the distilled essence of a happy life. All that I really need is to sip some wine and watch that in an endless loop. What else could possibly matter afterwards?

You should be able to re-name the big file ("VTS_01_1.VOB") to "filename.mpg" and play it that way.

Or just convert it to a 900kbps xvid with 120kpbs kbps MP3 audio in an avi container using any one of several open source conversion tools. That also has the advantage of droping th efile size down to around 40MB
