The middle east is a rather interesting place in 2070, what with the destruction of Tehran by Aden and the revelation that Ibn Eisa was a Master Shedim. But what I'm most concerned about is the issue of women's rights in 2070, most specifically the presences of baddass anime-esque squads of heavily armed super-baddass police women with swords and machine guns and nunchucks and shit.
I am concerned about this topic not because I want to absurdly introduce anime-esque squads of heavily armed baddass police women into a nation which is highly oppressive to women without any concern for realism or sanity; I am concerned about this topic because anime-esque squads of heavily armed baddass police women exist in Iran today. And they have giant anime guns. Just look at the pure unadulterated baddassery on that Iranian police woman's face as she one-hands that giant anime gun. It's like Iran has invented the Fish Speakers for real. You certainly wouldn't want to meet these Chador-clad ladies in a dark alley There exist, in Iran today, chador-clad police women with giant anime guns and swords and nunchucks and shit rappel off buildings and shoot from the windows of moving cars and execute unarmed suspects and blow stuff up and shit. This is the Iran I want to Shadowrun in. I want to Shadowrun in an Iran where baddass women police officers with giant anime guns shoot at you from moving vehicles, rough you up and summarily execute you before beating a vampire to death with weapon focus nunchucks and chopping an Islamic demon into tiny pieces. And thus, I present the following NPC Archetype Baddass Iranian Police Woman Human Body 4 Agility 5 (7) Reaction 5 Strength 4 Intuition 5 Logic 5 Charisma 6 (you need high charisma to look Baddass in a Chandor) Willpower 7 Edge 7 Magic 7 (6 Adept) Grade 2 Essence 5.04 IPs 3 Qualities Photographic Memory Mystic Adept Exceptional Willpower Metamagics Adept Centering Attuning (Item) Psychometry Shielding Reflecting Active Skills Close Combat Group 6 Firearms Group 5 Demolitions 3 Perception 4 Assensing 4 Athletics Group 4 Counterspelling 6 Pilot Ground Vehicle 3 Gymnastics 2 Dodge 3 Influence Group 2 Intimidation 5 Knowledge Skills Iranian Police Procedures 3 Crime 3 Magical Crime 3 Criminal Organizations 3 Small Unit Tactics 2 Islamic History 4 Islamic Law 3 Looking Cool in Blindfolds 6 Adept Powers Astral Sight Combat Sense 3 Killing Hands Berserk Quick Draw Magical Sense Blind Fighting Nimble Fingers Direction Sense Bioware Trauma Dampner (Beta) Synaptic Accelerator 2 (Beta) Muscle Toner 2 (Beta) Equipment Armored Chador (Full Body Armor) Sword (Force 3 Weapon Focus) Nunchuku (Force 3 Weapon Focus) Rugar Warhawk AK-97 Edit: Added Intimidation and Influence Group, thanks Grinder. Edit2:Changed shades to blindfolds, gave them blind fighting. |

NPCs don't cost BP, thank god. The GM just makes them up without any regard for costs.

Untrue. She's not a Grunt or a Contact. Therefore she must be a Prime Runner. Her BPs will be dictated by the category of PR she is. |

And you can calculate the bp's for anything - I try to keep an eye on the BP's of all, so I can maintain game balance and I know what kind of challenge they will be for the PCs.

Fish Speakers, indeed.
I can only hope they remember to use the swift feint to turn the blade, and the slow attack to penetrate the shield. |

Those aren't shades, they're reloading blindfolded.

You need shades to reload blindfolded. It is part of the Baddass Iranian Police Woman mystique. |

I've said it before and I'll say it again. Dayum! Mental note: Do not break law while in Iran. Ever. Just don't okay.

Yup. You could ask Zahra Kazemi, except that she's dead. Of course, the law is whatever the local mullah says it is, so it can be kind of hard to not break it. As Ms. Kazemi found out, following the law doesn't necessarily keep the government from arresting you for violating it. |

the 'giant anime gun' they're using is, unless i'm mistaken (which is quite possible, i'm nowhere near being an expert on firearms recognition) a Hammerli 208. while physically large, the Hammerli is a target pistol chambered in .22 LR--not an incredibly impressive weapon in most terms. basically, it's a big gun that fires a tiny round; the shooter ends up absorbing very little recoil.

I suspected as much, but it looks huge and that's what counts. Gaddafi's bodyguards probably are virgins. Almost certainly, the organization is an adept initiatory group that requires its members to take virginity as a condition geas. So they'd lose their adept powers if they ever had sex. |

A just and loving god would chamber it in .50 BMG and fill the streets of Teran with rouge boomers so that these ladies could re-enact Bubblegum Crisis in Chadors.

Did just that in 3rd edition. Dubbed it the "Mark IV". Cause that pistol is just too damn cool looking for such a light load. And I wanted a cool new sidearm for my namesake (he changes sidearms frequently). 8) |

Now, after seeing this, I can safely believe Iran's claims that they don't need the A-bomb.
