A couple of questions on drones coming out of CG.

OS upgrades are availble in CG
Do u need to buy each for your Comm and again for each Drone?
Or is a GM call?

Usually a GM call.

In the character templates the response upgrades have been bought independently for each drone and vehicle.

A response increase is probobly a hardware upgrade, most likely equivalent to a processor upgrade and/or memory upgrade.

OS upgrade would be pilot software. Your GM may require you to buy it for each one, or just roll for defeating its copy protection.

Or program it yourself (or have a Task spirit program it for you while you chug Hefeweizens down at the pub). Then you have the source code and can make infinite copies for free with no copy protection rolls.

There is no oficial rule, (all of the sample carictors are ilegal in some way) but the rule of thumb I work with is that software is portable acrost simmiler devices (a pilot program for a doberman will probably work on a steel linx but not on a helicoptor even with the corect attosofts) and purpous (that shofur will not know what to do in a shootout without some very detaled instructions.)
At chargen you can largly ignore copy protection but later on I reqire them fore eatch device you want to install a peace of software on, no re-rols (otherwise it's farly triveal).
