I have need for extensive information on dragons - their abilities, what their intentions are, what they act like, etc etc etc. I realize this is both a broad topic and one that Shadowrun hasn't spent a lot of time on. Any recommendations on books I could take a look through? Even SR3 or SR2 resources would be appreciated, since I'm more hunting for their flavor than their combat stats (at the moment, at least :D )

Buy Dragons of the Sixth World. It's SR3 but it's the most indepth information produced.

At the risk of sounding incredibly obvious, try "Dragons of the Sixth World", an SR3 book. Additional bits may be found in "Survival of the Fittest".

Yes. Read Ancient's stuff.
Also, for fun after you have read (or before you read, if you want to experience it going forward) Dragons of the Sixth World, get Portfolio of a Dragon. |

Umm, wha? Dragons are everywhere in SR fiction. Can't swing a dead squirrel over your head without hitting a dragon. The above resources listed ("Dragons of the Sixth World", "Portfolio of a Dragon - Dunklezahn's Secrets" and Ancient History's stuff) are fairly good primers. For examples of "Dragons in Action!", you can try looking for "Survival of the Fittest 2062" (not the best SR3 adventure in the world, but it lays out how the Greats can subtly do battle). Another resource (if you are into the whole Earthdawn crossover stuff) is the Book of Dragons: Revised in the Earthdawn setting. Some of the goals and traditions are carried over from the 4th world to the 6th world, and it is hashed out in greater detail there. I know that the game has greatly diverged from these crossovers, but the basic backstories should still be approximately the same. |
