As such, Divine Assassins possess Immunity to Heat/Cold/Electricity, Immunity to Age/Toxins/Pathogens, and a Severe Addiction to Protoblood. If deprived of Protoblood a Divine Assassin will go into suspended animation. Divine Assassins are not dual natured and do not have a magic rating. The Light Universe was dominated by the Invae, Insect Spirits, whom te Brunnen-G decided to wage war against. The Brunnen-G succeeded in committing near-total genocide against the Insects of the Light Universe, killing all but a single powerful True Form Invae. That Invae, obsessed with revenge, would take the name "His Divine Shadow" and found The Divine Order, a hyper-militant theocratic empire revolving around the worship of His Shadow as a living god. Meanwhile, the victorious Brunnen-G discovered immortality and with it fell into decadence and isolationism. Kai was a proud Brunnen-G warrior until he was killed in battle in battle with the Divine Order and restored to a mockery of life by His Shadow's magic and technology. His homeworld destroyed, his people killed, and his memories erased, the last of the Brunnen-G served faithfully as a Divine Assassin for 2008 years, before being recruited by the renegade crew of the stolen Lexx (a hybrid Dragonfly Spirit/planet-killing spaceship). After fulfilling an Ancient prophesy and killing His Shadow, Kai left the Light Universe and eventually found his way to Earth. Quotes: "I killed mothers with their babies. I've killed great philosophers, proud young warriors, and revolutionaries. I've killed the evil, the good, the intelligent, the weak, and the beautiful. I have done this in the service of His Divine Shadow and his predecessors, and I have never once shown any mercy." "The dead do not poo" |

That was such an odd show.
Chris Oh, and pretty good representation of Kai, there. |

The pilot was called "Tales from a Parallel Universe." I believe the show title was "Lexx".
Edit: Damn, too slow! |

The best Canadian/German sci-fi dramedy ever made.
I am curious, Adarael, why are you only trying to scrub the pilot from your brain? |

Because I never saw the regular show. Mostly because of the pilot. |

It actually was good, though inconsistent. I haven't seen all of the original four movies, I've only seen Supernova and Gigashadow. They're basically an epic little-guy with a destiny against the Evil Empire sort of thing, with half-decent special effects and a bit of dark comedy. They weren't particularly good, however. The second season, I haven't seen much of, either. But I do remember one with a planet full of cannibals. The third season is a somber and morose philosophical morality play with some action and some drama but little comedy in an epic fantasy-ish setting. The fourth season, taking place on an Earth that is patently bizarre due to being indirectly effected by the events of the third season, is almost pure farce. The massive changes in tone can be offputting to some viewers, certainly, but I think that it was pretty good. The latter seasons are better than the four initial movies. |

First season: They run for the Divine Order, learn the secrets of the Brunnen-G, go back and fight the Divine Order, and kill the Gigashadow (His Divine Shadow's true form, a giant ship [though the prophesy said that Kai would kill him, a cluster lizard that the crew kept as a pet ate his brain]).
Second Season: Mantrid Drones destroy the Universe. They barely escape into the Dark Zone Third Season: They find two planets which turn out be Heaven and Hell. Stan is tempted to destroy the Paradise known as Water in exchange for the resurrection of his lost love but ends up being condemned to an eternity on the Hellish planet Fire, instead. A bunch of other stuff happens, and both afterlives end up being blown up and eaten by Lexx. The freed souls reincarnate on Earth. Fourth Season: They're on Earth. The semi-omnipotent incarnation of ultimate evil, Prince, becomes the Director of the United States Bureau of Alcohol, Tobacco, and Firearms. His henchman gets elected President of the USA. An unrepentant predatory cannibal becomes the first female Pope. Ottawa is destroyed. Man-eating carrots attack. Giant alien planet monster stomps Tokyo. |

Priceless. :grinbig: I've watched the four movies, but not the serie. Heard that the latter isn't that great, but the movies are really entertaining. If you like weird characters. |

Did I mention that one of the main characters is a large moderately unattractive woman who is convicted of the crime of "failing to perform her wifely duties" and sentenced to be transformed into a beautiful obedient "love slave" for her husband by a machine called a "Lusticon" but due to an accident becomes a beautiful sensuous half-lizard creature with no feelings for her husband whatsoever? Due to a change in casting (same character, different actress) she was briefly killed but a man-eating plant-woman consumed her corpse and vomited her out alive again but with completely different features. |

Oh. My. God.
(Although in the original series, I don't recall him having Influence Group that high. If he did, he'd have been able to emote a bit more..) |

Just so long as you officially recognize that you've been given the "you have been warned" speech. Has anyone mentioned that Kai wears his hair in a delightful 50-pound beehive? Or that the aforementioned sex slave (who is a bit cross eyed, as I recall) has a nekkid bathing scene with a shower head that's really more of a tentacle-beastie? (Tim Curry makes an appearance.) Alright. Time to poke at my Netflix account. |
