So i have not been on in a while and was surprised much like many when the shadowrun.com site was not working... it took me awhile to find the new, expecially since we have tons of sites for the crap-job mmo.
My question is, what is going on.... The last i knew fanpro/wizkids were in charge/owned the rights to shadowrun (though i have to say i never like 4th) but now some new company has the rights and are making all the new books. How this happen and when/why?

Now i do understand this is not uncommon for the shadowrun system, i mean its been passed around more often then a bong and a party. I'm just surprised i did not hear more about it before hand.

New boss, same as the old boss. Though I should add that as far as I know the primary rights to the Shadowrun RPG have only been owned by two companies, FASA Corporation and WizKids LLC (now owned by Topps, so I guess you could argue that's a third), and the English-language publishing rights have only been exercised by three companies (FASA Corporation directly, FanPro LLC, and now IMR). I guess you could consider that a non-small turnover, but considering the amount of staff/freelancer overlap, I'm not sure how much I agree that it's been passed around a great deal.

kagetanshi- i think you maybe right.. i may have been over reaching when i said that.

They don't really say why they felt it was in the the games best interest, but i guess as long its the same people from before working on it it should be ok.

Unless if you are of the opinion that the same people are what's wrong.

I can't say for sure the experience at other game shops but around my area Fanpro had no real products. Books were announced, released as PDF's and then rotted in the 'coming soon' list. After just months of changing hands we have 2 SR books, more on the way, and more Classic BTech than you can shake a stick at. Catalyst is thus far proving to be a much more motivated and supportive company toward both lines IMO.

it would be nice to see them put out just as much if not more as was put out in second edition... most of which seems to adventures.. i'm not a fan of 4th for many reasons but i still like to see the game continue on even though i'll stick with 3rd for now.
