I recently posted a question about the cost of upgrading vehicles and drones. The link is http://forums.dumpshock.com/index.php?showtopic=19451 In it, I asked about how Archetypes (Drone Rigger, Smuggler) have upgraded various drones/vehicles. It seems pretty expensive. The Bulldog van, for example, is already an expensive purchase at 37,000:nuyen:, but grows in price by 20k if you make the upgrades the Archetypes made. I was looking at the van, the Roto-Drone, and the Doberman, but that combination at the archetype's levels (increasing all vehicle stats to 4) is mad crazy :nuyen:. One potential way to keep prices at decent levels is to buy just one vehicle with Pilot 4, Firewall 4, etc. Then, the Pilot and Firewall programs could be copied (per the copying software rules) during downtime (marking it off on the calendar). Does that work in SR Misions? Can I get the van at rating 4, then copy the programs at a later date (making the extended skill checks, etc. during downtime) to upgrade my Doberman and Roto-Drone? Thanks! |

Absolutely, hacking your programs is entirely permitted. Of course, thresholds for doing so are subject to your GM's discretion, as are the consequences of a glitch.

Thanks!
Yes, the glitches will be possible, thanks to that low software skill! |
