Alright, general info first:

SimCon 30, hosted by the University of Rochester, website is here, scheduled date of March 28-31, 2008, more information will be made available over the next few months.

Now that that's out of the way, here's the fun info:

As this is going to be our 30th SimCon, we're going to do a theme of past SimCons. And the games played at those SimCons. Old editions, old games, everything is up for grabs when it comes to games to be played.

To give some examples, one thought being tossed around was for the D&D tournament, having the first round be 3rd ed, the second round be 2nd ed, and the third round be 1st ed.

Another thought was finding some old-generation game consoles (fifth and forth generation primarily, but possibly even older than that) for the console tournaments (and possibly have the games and/or the consoles be the prizes for the tournaments).

So, any game, any edition is acceptable. So I'm putting out the call for old edition Shadowrun GMs and modules; 3rd, 2nd, even 1st...

I'll update this thread when we're taking event submissions in a few months; in the interim, I'm just letting everyone know about this.

And I'll hopefully see you there!

You know, when I saw the title the whole roman numerals thing didn't occur to me, so I was sort of afraid it was going to be a con full of furry porn or something, or maybe FATAL.

Much to our club president's disappointment, the furry strippers idea was shot down. :D

Let me tell you, we had a devil of a time coming up with a logo that wasn't either A) obscene or B) already copyrighted.
