Hello All, This question came up during our weekly game. Luckly the question came up but it did not effect what was happening during the game (more of planning for next week). Can you stack multiple wireless devices to get an effective higher rating. For instance, can I put out a rating 2 and a rating 4 wireless jammer and get an effect rating higher than 4? Or can I put out 2 rating 4 devices to get something higher than a 4? I have not found any rules (and yeah one of you will point it out for me knowing my luck!) that state what happens when you try this. thanks for your advice... dog |

In absence of a specific rule stating otherwise (which granted, anyone might post in here any second), my assumption would be you'd use only the highest rating. A Rating 2 jammer works about as well as 8 Rating 2 jammers taped together.

Rulewise, I'd answer like Mercer.
Using common sense, I'd answer the same thing, especially for jammers: a rating 4 jammers is just more powerful than a rating 2 jammer. It's like having a 10W and a 400W loudspeaker at full blast at the same time : you'll only hear the 400W one. Some devices might work differently (having 2 computers in parallel processing should be better than 1) but it'll only lead to gamebreaking issues, so it's better to say no. If you have the ratings stack, you'll see runners carrying rating 500 medkits, and I'm not sure it's a very good idea. |

Nodes are Networks of devices. So if you add one more device to a Network of 250 devices, it doesn't really change the network that much.
Any individual PAN can be treated as a single Node for most purposes. |
