No, it's not. I don't know what's up with it exactly, but the overall project is still on the radar for Catalyst.

It has "lost" the option of becoming part of the mailing list, but if you go to /index.html the logo is still present.

I don't know, that's awfully short notice to get the rigger book out before then.

until you hear something from someone at CGL, I would put all this under the "rumors" section. I have never heard anything about SR5 and that would surprise me since they have a strong plan for the rest of the books (or more books) for SR4 that are not out yet. And if they were going to release something as important as SR5 or SR4.5 or some major change like that, they would probably demo it at Orgins (in July) and release it at GenCON (in Aug).

WARNING: I have no inside knowledge of anything. I am just speculating based on their past performances.

as for April '08 for holostreets... have not a clue. your guess is just as good as mine.

Have a good one..

They announced it a long time ago.

But ... but ... Arsenal is due early in the new year. That's just too close for comfort. ;)

IIRC, SR5 was suppposed to be out before SR4 (or instead of SR4).

Personally, I wonder why anyone even bothers hoping for Holostreets anymore. It is obvious that it is a dead project that will never see the light of day. After all, if ANYTHING was being done on it, we would have heard something in the various news posts.

I'm certainly not holding my breath for Holostreets (though I do sorta hope it stays dead long enough to get a name change, just on principle), but my view is that if I accept that that's true with respect to Holostreets, I would also have to apply that logic to the unreleased SR[123] PDFs, which is a conclusion too heartrending to contemplate.

There is hope because SoLA is basically ready IIRC. File + existing eMail-List + recent change on the website that involved some kind of eMail-program mess = hope. One might assume this falls under a "we don´t talk business" guideline CGL is maintaining in regards to the german license, too. So SoLA will be out if/when the Holostreets concept goes live OR is declared dead.

Sorry, simply not true. Any time we spend talking about Holostreets -- "Yes, it's really going to happen!" -- is time that isn't spent working on it [or something else important.]

As for SOLA, it's really not "basically just done." It's written, but hasn't been through a full dev-edit pass, nor a copy-edit pass, and there's no artwork.

Well, honestly, if it WAS ever going to be done, we would have heard something by now other then some interview files that, btw, were never on cgl or any other official source, so their veracity(like yours, since this is not CGL or any official source) is questionable, with Boyle saying something about player and game master accounts. We would, in fact, be seeing requests for fiction submissions for it like we saw for Battlecorps(we had those, what, 6 months to a year before Battlecorps opened up?) Give people some proof that it has EVER been worked on(as, I do remember a post on Battlecorps about a year or so ago where it was stated that Holostreets had never been worked on because they did not have the people to have both holostreets and Battlecorps), and, oh, yeah, give the information link off of CGL's site something OTHER then a dead link, and maybe we can believe that it really is coming one day. As it stands right now, though...well...I have heard too many promises from Battlecorps that they have not lived up to..why should I not just lump Holostreets with things like exclusive previews and miniatures, and chat logs?

Because somebody is telling you about the state of things instead of letting the issue die? Despite being attacked because there was information before the product was ready? Nobody told you Holostreets is being worked on right now.

Actually, it was confirmed on Battlecorps that Holostreets IS NOT being worked on, that the people who would have been working on it have been pulled to work on getting the book release schedule up to date. Personally, I would rather they either got it done or canceled it, not keep saying "Oh..we are working on it..after we get this done." or "We don't have te man power, since our staff are entirely unpaid volunteers, so as soon as we get people who want to work for free, we will get it going."

Honestly, give us some previews, or something..give the people who want to see Shadowrun not keep being treated as Catalysts red-headed step child something to show it is being worked on.

The priority is getting books out - fine. Arsenal, Corp Enclaves, Unwired, some internet project... Holostreets last is my sentiment exactly.

Now your complaint is that you´d prefer them cancelling anything they can´t do right now? And work-in-progress-reports on what is not being done right now? Reminds me of school, not of business.
