See my PM for my (double checked) math, and my green-light request for a reroll.
And, in other news, I'd love to see a cross between Railroading and Road Rage. Railroading Rage, or something. Use the "melee weapons" rule from RR, and the "go kill Spikes" rule for Railroading... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) EDIT: Crap. Or you'll post me losing the argument while I'm waiting on my double-checked roll's numbers, and permission to add Edge. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) Ah well, that's politics for ya. *grins and posts, rolling with the punches* Hopefully the sword-swap with Squire's okay. I rechecked descriptions and didn't see any of the other players carrying a sword -- for shame! -- and I just don't want there to be any doubt in anyone's eyes. Since I'd mentioned earlier Tain was teaching her how to fight with blades, it seemed kosher to give her a decent sword for him to trade her. |

What is my notoriety? You never got around to telling me, I don't think. I can already tell you, I'll fail, but we'll see.

Crit - I posted to move along a bit, but if you're roll is significantly higher, or even manages to beat hers, there's no reason that I can't edit it.
Edit: Oh and Crit, remember, you can still use your sword, you just can't activate it to use the focus properties. DT- I believe that, like Fortune, you were starting higher than the norm, thanks to your background. But I don't think we remembered to finish adding that in the final stages of making your character. We'll go with 2 points as most of his craziness was in the past unless you feel strongly against that and see a reason he would try to bring it down. THe reason for the higher notoriety is becuase these are gangers and a certain level of notoriety would be expected, even strived for. Claymore and Haven both have some serious issues in their past that would build that notoriety as well (as did Bedlam, Doc's character, who was going to start with a 3). |

I'm not gonna ask you to go back and retro-post too much, man. It's my own fault for flubbing up the initial die roll, and I think it made for a good couple of posts on everyone's part. I did go ahead and roll those "oops" extra dice of mine (but left off Edge, to keep it from messing up the overall flow/feel of the last few posts we all made), though, so hopefully it'll help me out some in the future. Ended up with 8 (total) hits, which beats the heck out of 3. Still not enough to overthrow anything, but enough to roll with the punch a little, in theory. [ Spoiler ] |

One of the reasons I felt safe with posting was because she got such an incredibly high roll. I figured you wouldn't be willing to invest the Edge in it, but there was always the possibility. Go ahead and edit in the correct dice just so we have it "on record" and we'll roll on ahead.

Roger that, Fisterino Grande. Both speech-giving die rolls have been spoilered into my speech-giving post (at the end).
Also, PM (finally) sent with desired Arsenal updates/upgrades. |

Got it and got it. And never mind what I said about the weapon foci. I reread and see why you're doing it. All in all, not a bad idea. 2 CSP.

Since it's not a game where -- normally, though I guess they could if people wanted -- "magic weapons" tend to glow or be wrapped in fire or anything, it seems prudent to just remove all doubt. With a "no active weapon foci" rule in effect, and the whole thing being a fight over questions of honor, it seems like a good idea to not use a weapon foci (active or otherwise) to cut a rival into little bitty pieces. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
And...consider those CSP (once I remember the costs for knowledge points) spent on some gang-related stuff, for the record. He needs to shore up on that, and start thinking about the big picture. *grin* |

Honestly, I expected Notoriety in the 3-5 range, so I'm not going to argue against a 2. See the "Doing a character" thread if you want an example of why. Uhg, mis-rolled my dice, scrapping and re-rolling the correct number. As always, under http://invisiblecastle.com/roller/search/189362/ at invisible castle. I always re-roll the whole thing, it helped a lot this time, but I'm sure it will screw me in the future.

Haven gets less notoriety because it was a while ago. And I'd thought about giving you 1 CSP for checking out the bike. I jsut hadn't got a chance to post it as I was getting swarmed by one 3 yr old. It's amazing how one child can do so much swarming. You'll just have to wait for karma, I'll tab in some extra there.

Oh, I was just joking, man. I'm not concerned. I'm playing for the interaction not the character advancement. I was actually referencing the fact that I thought most people got CSP or karma or something for their backgrounds and whatnot. Again, not concerned about it. Yeah, I figured time was the main factor and like I said, not arguing against it, I was actually pleasantly surprised. Although, maybe I should send you a copy of the post from that other thread. It is what I saw in my head when I first started to develop Haven.

DT - yeah, send me a PM. The more about a character the better.
Resisting Leadership - No one got more than 8 successes, meaning that Vixen beat your rolls by 9. Keep that in mind while posting, taht while you may hate the slitch, there defintely could be something to what she said. She's very convincing. Perception test 3+ sucesses - Green Lucifer casts a spell subtly just before the crowd calms. Coincidence? |

I don't think I did the Perception test for Claymore. Let's just say that he was too pissed off at the time to notice.

Yeah you didn't, I know. s'ok.
Haven was busy with a bike, Aero was apparently looking for a tree, and Claymore was so pissed he was only seeing red. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

*blink* Lucifer is a Spellcaster?! I don't know why, I always pictured him more as a samaurai/adept or infiltrator or something than a mage.
Will send you PM. Chris |

Greenie has always been a spellcaster. For a decent insight on Green Lucifer, read the intro story to the Elven Fire scenario. Hell, the Elven Fire scenario should be required reading for this game. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Damn!
I had been preparing my post off-line in readiness to just plug it in, and I find an IC moratorium. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/frown.gif) I am tempted to post it anyway, being as Fistpatrick can alter and delete posts at will, so he could just kill the intervening post instead of editing it when he gets the chance. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) Decisions, decisions ... |

I'm going to read Elven Fire, now. Only thing I have read with him in it before was Wolf and Raven, and it just didn't give the impression to me that he was a caster. What with him sniping the Meat Junkies lead dog to disorient them and allow the Ancients to retreat and lick their wounds. Also, him being an arrogant jackass.

So...him being an arrogant jackass made you think he wasn't a spellcaster? -1 CSP.
And just go ahead and post it, Fortune. They can always be edited later, or something. |

No, the fact that nothing I had read mentioned him being anything more than a good sniper made me think he wasn't a spellcaster. The only indication of spellcasting in the Elven Fire intro is his sampling the mood of the crowd and that could easily be attributed to a perception test, not astral sensing. After reading Elven Fire, though, I stand by my arrogant jackass statement.
