I can't find my YotC. Can someone give me a briefing on the, uh... rebellion, or whatever is or was going on down there? Who's fighting who, and for what? Is it still going on, or who won and to what extent?

Thanks a lot!

Rebels are fighting the azzies. The azzies start using bioweapons, and well the drek hits the fan. Spirits go crazy, toxics pop up everywhere, nature itself rebels and kicks everyones butt. No real clear winner.

It's over by 2070. I think the final truce was worked out in 2065.

Ah, new information.

I'm trying to come up with the basic outline for a character background. This should do it. Thanks to both of you!

I think the Azzies have been repopulating the area with their down-trodden masses. Heck of a way to deal with the homeless!!! (no SIN? no problemo... welcome to the Yucatan!)

The Yucatan rebellion is about the oppression of the traditional native south-americans and the ruling classes of Mestizos (The spanish conquerors' descendants). They oppose Aztlan's psuedo-spanish/Aztec rule, and the corp controlled government.

The Aztlan sourcebook is a pretty good source for campaign ideas, as is Yotc if you want to amp it up to nutty levels.

The Yucatan situation has minor updates in the SOTAs and would have been wrapped in the long-awaited Shadows of Latin America. That said several tidbits about what did happen have been released in SR4 books. Yucatán is now a semi-autonomous nation though in truth it's become a client state of Aztlán with former rebel leader Pobre as the Governor.
