- - "Speech color=cyan, optionally enclosed in quotes" - - <Coms (subvocal) color=violet> - - <Coms (Text) color=black> - - Thoughts color=darkkhaki and in italics - - Memories, flashbacks, dreams color=lightgrey and in italics Feel free to use PMs as needed as well for clarifications or covert details. NPC's Do not assume the actions/reactions of anyone listed as contact. You can take reasonable artistic liberties with non-contact NPCs, but please PM me first if you engage in extended dialog. In the case of assumptions of time passed in travel, NPC reactions, etc I may ask for an edit. In the end, I will try not to impact your creativity where your post doesn't impact my world view. wink.gif Dice Rolling Please use http://invisiblecastle.com/rolldice.py. For character name, please use "Puyallups" as the campaign name. Note: Please capitalize the "P". The only rolls I will reserve are perception and assensing rolls. By knowing if the character glitches or the degree of success, then strategic information may be given away. All others will be made by the players. Karma I've not yet decided on Karma awards. I am leaning towards Karma on a chapter by chapter basis rather than by mission (as in tabletop) or by timeframe. More on that as the game gets rolling. Time away from the board I would like to set an expectation of two posts per week. Real Life happens though. If a player will be AFK for more than a few days, just post in the OOC and give us a heads up. PM me instructions and I can remote your character in order that the game can continue with your pre-submitted actions. (We all know that sometimes you can take a week or two of vacation and still make most of a combat scene) First Actions Provide a basic description of the appearance of your character. You can provide more details as time goes on. Also, provide a spoiler: Roll for starting money, denote your equipment carried. If more things come up I will denote inline in the OOC and update this post. |

Ramses
Dressed in a twill vest and sport jacket, often carrying an umbrella in one hand, Ramses looks the part of Scholar/Professor of an age long since past. A dwarf of average height and build, and full head of hair, only the grey in his beard belies his age (mid thirties for humans). Three things that do stand out when observing him in detail are: the handle of his umbrella is in the shape of a jackal's head, a decorative belt buckle is in the shape of a scarab, and he wears a necklace with the shape of an ankh. Sam
Sam is tall and lithe (6' 0") with long brown hair and dark brown eyes. On top of being an elf born to human parents, she has a semi exotic look as her father was Latino and her mother was part Japanese. With a casual glance, you would categorize her as Latina, but her native language is English (she also speaks Spanish and Japanese). She is 19 years old, but her Fake ID puts her at 23. She can pass for anywhere between 16 and 24 depending on her outfit, and she is good at schmoozing the doorman, so she rarely gets carded. She has no visible ink or piercings, and apparently no cyberware. Sam favors dark colors, and is usually dressed in jeans, biker boots, fingerless motorcycle gloves, and a sleeveless shirt (often one that exposes her midriff as well). She usually wears a gold locket which used to belong to her mother. The pendant is in the shape of a heart. The picture inside is of Sam's brother Michael as a small child, holding her as a baby. In places that do not frown upon it, Sam wears her Ares Predator IV slung low on her hip, in Old West, gunfighter style. She is often out and about on her Suzuki Mirage. [ Spoiler ]

You need to put number of rolls = 3 and dice = 6
You needed to put (number of rolls = 3 and dice = 1d6) or (number of rolls = 1 and dice = 3d6). |

For future reference, if you enter it as number of rolls = 1; Dice = 6d6.hits(5) it will rolls 6 x d6 and count everything that is a 5 or higher as a hit, then count the hits.
--------------- With two hits: The Fire Cracker is a neighborhood bar at 417N 3rd St NE in Puyallup City. It is owned by a young Irish immigrant named Jimmy. Nothing fancy. His family is rumored to be in with the Irish mafia (who in turn are earners for the Italian mafia). Mostly neighborhood folks who drink here and troublemakers are dealt with hard. |

Hiya, Dirtz. Finally had time to come up with a detailed character with some decent hooks. Sam has been working for Kilroy for about 6 months so I'm not sure she worked with Ramses before. At Redjack's suggestion, I bought a higher loyalty rating for him, rather than having my own fixer.
If Ramses plays chess, Sam might have swindled him out of some nuyen in the past. She's a chess shark, and she uses her charms to make people make stupid moves. If he's active in the Metahuman community, Sam's brother, Michael Rodriguez, is a Metahuman Rights activist in Puyallup City, and Sam occasionally attends rallies. If he likes Coyote Ugly type bars, he might have been to Sam's hangout in the Puyallup Barrens. Yes, she dances on the bar with the waitresses and bartender. We haven't named the bar yet, but the bartender's name is Jingles. She occasionally hangs with a gang called the Bloody Blades, 'cause their #2 man has a thing for her. But that does not seem like Ramses bag. She is an Adept, but she's not very active in the Magic community, so that is probably a dead end for connections. It may be that they are meeting for the first time. |

Hoi Gray,
This will be the first time we meet, Ramses is new to Seattle and he's old enough to be Sam's pop. Doubtful he'd been to any of those places to hang out. Hell, I need to use grid guide and navsoft map just to get to Fire Cracker. If anything he's been involved with local paranormal activities (bug spirit hunting) and the like. I'd have to guess we're more polar opposites then anything, should be interesting how this pans out. |

No, sorry Red. He'll just check out the location and see where to park. The only thing before the meet I want to do is spin up an armor spell through the sustaining focus.
Force 4, spellcasting 5 + magic 5 = 10dp. Armor spell (10d6.hits(5)=4) Resist Will 6 + cha 5 +2 fetish = 13dp. Armor Drain (13d6.hits(5)=7) No drain. I figure to be at the club 20 minutes early. |

I want to see if Sam knows anything about which gang's turf the Fire Cracker is in. She has Gang Turf 3 and Intuition 3.
6d6.hits(5) → [3,4,5,6,3,1] = (2) If it is not a gang that is too objectionable to the Bloody Blades, I'd like her to contact her friend in the Bloody Blades (or one of the other members if he's busy) and ask him to dress down (no gang colors, ink covered up etc.) and join her for a game of chess and some cock-a-leaky soup at the Fire Cracker at 6:00 P.M. She'll teach him how to play if he doesn't already know. And she won't play for money... this time. If it is a gang that would recognize her friend on sight and want to cause him bodily harm, she'll have to go alone and make a friend there to play chess. This is so she can case the place while not looking like she's doing so. Hiding in plain sight so to speak. |

Jimmy's brother Tommy runs the neighborhood for two blocks all around the bar, with their other brothers. The 89's border in on the east and would like to take over the territory but not the heat that would accompany the move.
Colors covered, Keith "Scrimp" (The lieutenant in the Bloody Blades) should not have any problems at The Fire Cracker. |

Not having roleplayed any of their relationship yet, I'm not sure how much Sam actually likes Scrimp. She is a big flirt, but don't think she'd lead him on too far at this stage if that is the game you referred to in the IC post. Or if you meant by "game" fleecing him at chess, she'll play her normal game with no dirty tricks (well Fool's Mate doesn't count as dirty if he knows how to play), and just for fun, no bets. Unless he's really old fashioned, she'll even buy the soup.
Now "Queen's Knight" (Mr. T in a nice suit, but still with all the chains) would be another story. He's accompished at chess and fair game for anything. He'd just stick out like a sore thumb. I was going to have Sam call Scrimp and convince him to show up a half hour early, hence the roll below, but I can see there is no elf at the bar by 6:40, so I'll just roll with leaving Sam's apartment at 6:30. 8d6.hits(5) → [5,4,5,6,3,2,2,2] = (3) Redjack: How far is the Fire Cracker from Sam's apartment? This will be moot if you include Sam's arrival at the Fire Cracker in you IC post, but if you don't, I'd like to know a viable arrival time. |

So yeah, forgot about OOC thread completely... So here's my update Spades, as he's called from his introduction to running, is something close to a corp suit and every day joe mixed together. His spiked brown hair and well-kept goatee compliment his style of clothing... Sometimes. His natural green eyes may seem run of the mill will standard cosmetics these days, but his personality and looks set him up well for his business. He's straight up white male homo sapiens sapiens, so nothing new there. His mode of dress varies on occasion according to business and pleasure, and when it's pleasure he usually doesn't stray too far from clothes of the current years styles, and then some more "classic" stuff. Spades is 5'10" with a look of a 22 year old, a permanent part of his wardrobe collection are driving gloves. [ Spoiler ]

Hoi, Soykaf Adict!
Looks like we have a human Face/Suit, dwarf Egyptian Mage, and an elf Gunslinger Adept/Face w/ friends in low places only. Fairly decent crew. No meat (or chrome) shield, but other than that a good mix. |

I always assume the "Heavy" is taken so I try to be other things, I hope we collectively can talk the guards outta shoot, hahaha. Hoi back, Gray. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) I was thinking we were gonna have a two-fer running group and it was seeming we were gonna have our hoops in a lot of trouble with numbers like that. Feeling a little more comfortable now.

I found some pictures of a model on Getty Images (stock photo site) that looks almost exactly the way I imagined Sam to look. Well minus the pointed ears.
I put a copy of one of them on my website. What do you think? ==> Is this Sam? |

Yeah, you don't find too many photos of honest to goodness, Tolkienesque dwarves floating around. Here's another picture of the same model in nearly the identical workout outfit I described (minus sneakers and ponytail holder) ==> Sam's workout outfit Scary close to the mark, huh? I could photoshop some ears on her. But Sam does cover her ears with her hair a lot anyhow. |

Rofl, no I don't think I'll find anything like that ... Nice picks of Sam, too bad we don't have anyone with photoshop skillz. A shot of her with her bike with some puyallup background clutter would look sweet.

That white background is very easy to replace. I also got some shots of this same model in a clubbing outfit, just none in runner gear. And the alley cat is based on my real cat so I can photshop her in too. I got an old pic of Jerssica Alba in a trench coat, I could put this girl's head on it for her runner outfit. |
