Has anyone here played Comix Zone? I consider it one of the best and most fun sidescroller type games ever, having played the Genesis version.

The format of the game was a comic book. It was an "action" game and the main character, a cartoonist pulled into his own work, used martial arts to overcome various villians and obstacles. It meshed very well as everything looked and felt like a comic book. The comic book frames were part of the game environment and the size of the frame and the things depicted in each one affected each stage of gameplay. I'd strongly recommend trying it out if you get the chance.

I never got past the first couple of screens. It made me wish I was fighting a T80 with a grenade launcher.

Funny little game indeed... Gets a bit hard toward the end IIRC.
And speaking about action sidescroller, I have to mention Noitu Love 2. I just played the demo today and it looks terrific. I guess you could describe it as Metal Slug mixed with Strider/Cannon Dancer (nice action sidescrollers too)... It even has Castlevania references.

Well sure. Grenade launcher > comic book martial arts.

But still, it was pretty rewarding (and photogenic) to master all your guys' moves. Later on in the game you ended up having martial arts duels with some asian monks and it all really looked very comic-book-ey. Very well done concept.

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/talker.gif) Hell yah I loved that game. I downloaded it not to long ago on the WII games channel though it keeps freezing for some reason in the sewer level. *shrug*
