Of course, while we were killing time waiting for the movie, I dropped by the Barnes and Noble at the same strip mall and picked up a few graphic novels. Upon getting home and reading the comics, I managed to re-kindle my disdain for Tony Stark and start to hate him as a character again (which the movie had pretty much washed away).

Ah, well I'm glad I don't have to rush out and start reading Iron Man. I'm fairly certain I still hate the basic character but I'm going to love the movie.
Did the movie have a good ending or did it have some shitty "We are totally making a franchise out of this" ending? |

The additional scene at the end of the credits is excellent. Also of note is that after seeing it last night (2nd time, this one with friends after being THAT guy), I was reading Imdb and noticed that Robert Downey jr. is credited as Tony Stark in the next Hulk movie... |

Yeah, they're definitely setting up a few little crossover events, making for some "continuity" between the various franchises, setting things up for the Avengers.

Seriously though, they didn't use 'Iron man' the song until the end credits and even then they didnt use the vocals.
My friend and I who care about that sort of thing (the other two guys didn't know wtf we were on about) spent the entire movie going 'Come on use it now... YOU DIDN'T USE IT. YOU BASTARDS' Except quietly. Extremely irritating. |

Also of note is that after seeing it last night (2nd time, this one with friends after being THAT guy), I was reading Imdb and noticed that Robert Downey jr. is credited as Tony Stark in the next Hulk movie... It's to tie in several of the marvel movie characters so that they can bring forth the avengers movie (which is still in pre-production, who knows when that'll come out). As for the ironman song, eh, it's been done enough in the trailers, didn't care that they did or didn't use it for the actual movie. [ Spoiler ]

I thought it was friggin' brilliant, but I'm a huge Robert Downey, Jr. fan. I've been diggin' him since "Wierd Science" and "Less Than Zero."
I'm definitely gonna see it again. SFX were well done and the acting was up to snuff. Story was well paced and pretty solid. I'm definitely looking forward to the sequels. |

The worst part is that when I finally do get to see it, I'll be watching it on "built by the lowest bidder" screens and "I think we still have 2 speakers that work" sound.
*Cries* I hate you all, I hope you all appreciate the sacrifices I make for your freedom. *ducks and weaves* (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif) |

Not true.
It was also a 10% increase in the price of Marvel stock. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

I hate you all, I hope you all appreciate the sacrifices I make for your freedom. As a matter of fact, I do. Very much. And I hope my mocking and derision was taken in the good-natured way that it was intended. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) |
