We'll be posting the transcript soon, just need to clean it up a little so it's easier to follow.

Thanks again to all those who participated. It was fun and we will definitely consider doing this again in the future. Meanwhile I hope this has spiked your interest in Ghost Cartels and the secrets of tempo...

Blade: Funny. I was wondering who used that name. I used the handle "S|ICK" for years on the old SR IRC back in the day.

Heh, that's the streetname of my main SR4 character (the one who was most likely to be in such a chat and say interesting things).

That was definitely very fun. I had fun playing out my magician, Bane. It was nice to see him chatting with canon figures. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

That was the first SR chat I've done of any type and it was really enjoyable. it really felt like a shadowtalk from one of the books, albeit with sometimes slightly less direction (naturally). I'd definitely do that again. Of course, I'm also probably jonesing from lack of a game currently and having a new character (Gwailo) I've only played once...

FYI, the formal transcript will probably be posted later in the week as I'm at the GAMA Trade Show from Monday -> Thursday [and preparing for it and flying Sunday/today]

Edit: And I'll try to set aside some time to debug the issues that some people are having accessing the chat from Linux before the next chat.

The chatroom appears to still be open. No-one is there, though.

BattleCorp's Chatroom

Not much of an echo.

Am I really the only one who didn't enjoy it? I found the chat far too fragmented and fast-scrolling. As soon as I tried to formulate a question, I fell hopelessly behind, and could not for the life of me follow what was being said. I don't think any of my Q's were addressed, and I could barely tell which questions got answers and which answers were for which questions.

It felt like I was 13 again on Yahoo Chat. *shudder*

I'm really looking forward to next month's, hoping I'll like the usual question/answer format better. If they do it as IC again in the future, I hope it's not a regular thing.

That said, the session STARTED OUT awesome. It was only after everyone started talking at once that I stopped enjoying myself.

--------------------------------------------------
I agree It'd be cool to have the chats on IRC: a java applet on the site for non-IRC'ers still, but the option of being able to join in on X-Chat would be wicked. It worked fine for me, but that applet is so SMALL! It held maybe 10 short lines of text on my machine.
--------------------------------------------------

[Edit:] Of course, that Parachat thing is expensive, and paid for by subscription. It looks like they have a Professional or better subscription, so I imagine there may be roadblocks for switching. Besides... does IRC have an option for the "anything you type is sent to a moderator who can then send it to a Speaker" question-and-answer mode? Sadly, I doubt it.

Heh. Yeah, opening the floodgates as it were wasnae particularly easy on the freelancers either, though we did our best. It's possible we could have continued with a sort of moderated discussion, but it would have been much slower and the greater part of the spontaneity lost (for good or ill).

i guess there is a reason why older books showed megapulses, or even gigapulses of comments deleted by the old captain...

still, i have a feel that the articles in the books are more like a wiki then a chatroom. or maybe a kind of cross between a wiki and a webforum?

as in, you cant touch the original article unless your its "owner" or a admin of the place, but can insert comments at any point (but not edit other peoples comments).

hmm, could make for a interesting interface irl. especially if one could opt to hide the comments.

When will the transcript be posted? In the past, it seems like they were posted within hours....so far it has been days...enquiring minds want to know.

There's a rather significant game industry event this week. Adam's got to attend it, which means web stuff needs to wait until he gets back.

Which reminds: Adam Jury got a little love. I'd post there myself, but, um, I've kinda been banned a few times. Not without reason, I might say.
