Simple, legalese in the contract! "The footage captured cannot be used for purposes of evidence in a crime, as dictated by the terms of the agreement, under local statute $Legalese."

I'm sure the Ares anti-tank missile will stop to read that after it hits the back window of your car....

Where-upon the PCC takes Ares to court for large amounts of Nuyen in damages for illegally discharging military weapons.

Remember, corp are only all powerful on Extraterritorial ground. The moment that missile crosses the fence that separates the two, Ares becomes liable.

"The video and radar records clearly show it was this was attacked by a Cylon Raider. Ares does not operate any such vehicles. Have a nice day and best of luck on your search for the real killers."

Remember how tough it is to hack cameras and such? Megacorps are a LOT better than a band of runners.

In most cases why would Ares want to do that, they may want to hire you next week. There's no profit in killing runners.

If you record yourself breaking into a megacorp facility you are too stupid to live. Certainly too stupid to hire. If I want deniable assets doing things for me that I don't want people to know about I don't want to see them doing them on TV. Against publicity seeking idiots you want deterrence. Hence 'pour encourager les autres'.

If you hire LA P2.0 runners you allready know thier gonna broadcast the run, if you don't want that you tell them not to broadcast or bring in outside talent.

I see L.A. as a "everyone is doing business this way, fit or get out" place. If Ares started scragging runners Seattle-style in L.A., then that would be rocking the boat for everyone, especially Horizon. And the P2.0 serve as a nice distraction for the black ops runs. It's really more like "reality tv dialed up to 11".

I do assume that P2.0 runs are usually relatively light on casualties so that no side takes it personally. Those who do not follow that end up like the Johnson in the intro fiction to L.A. in Corp Enclaves.

Also, the Ares guys are likely to stop the guy with the Missile by going, "Dude! You totally can't geek them! I gotta get their autograph!"

Sounds like it's a great option for the Pink Mohawk crowd... but coming from SR3 more than SR1, I have difficulty imagining it being anything other than a bucketful of trouble.

You know, you can greatly increase the value of your autographs if you shoot your subject in the head after getting their autograph....

Why does it make you too stupid to live? Once you are off megacorp territory, they can't chase you, and once you've made the hand-off, it's not profitable too.

If your worried about evidence, how is your recording worse than the one those eight security guards just made, the 2 that the camera's just made, the one the the Spider just dumped to offside storage, and all the other evidence you leave behind?

So, some slightly increased risk, in return for more pay. Isn't that what most runs balance?
