Ok, tossed down a bid on Mydnight's cards (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Is anyopne else here interested? If so, I won't fight them. I'm mostly interested in this lot as trade fodder and deck fodder for at the convention, but if they're going to a good home, more power to you (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

This may be a shot in the dark, but perchance is your post a refrence to the wonderful Sci-Fi comedy Red Dwarf? The episode it'd be refering to would be the one with the alternate universe where the gender roles are backwards.

I am also thinking about dropping by and getting to know everyone as well. At the very least I could get a good idea about the system and what I can do with it.

Actually, it was a response to the post immediately preceding that asked if anyone else was bidding on the SRTCG cards on eBay. The reason for my terminology is spoilered because I imagine it would bore most people:

[ Spoiler ]

I am now out, as somebody else topped my bid and while I'm interested, I'm not more than US$35 interested.

Sorry to hear that you got knocked out Aaron, and should things go bad I'll keep you in mind. I do understand though about not wanting to pay too much (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

I'm out for now as well. I might see where the bidding is in the next day or two, since if you're going to be at Gen Con, I can apply what I'd pay in shipping to my bid as well. But only if no one else is interested in them from here. Like I said before, since I don;t have a real vested interest in them for myself, I'll be happy to let them go to someone else who'll put them to good use (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Again, thanks to everyone for all the support and I do wish all of you guys luck.

I'm really looking forward to Gen Con and I have the inklings of a Shadowrun persona starting already, even though I have no idea about the system ^^'

Looking forward to seeing everyone -- less than two weeks to go until Gen Con!

Another thought, we need to cover some etiquette points up front. The first being the use of paper and pen/pencil to write down stats on challenges as they are reconned. This was standard operating procedure in the games that adamu and I played. I don't know if the rest of the SRTCG world rolled that way. We need to reach agreement on that point before the event.

Well I will make an executive decision and agree us all right now - I am showing up with pen and pad. After three back-to-back four-hour SR sessions that day, I will be wanting to RELAX and HAVE FUN, not rack my brain trying to remember all the Challenges I look at!

@Adamu. I have some experience in the hotel industry (having worked in limited service hotels for four years) and if you have any questions or inquiries or need some help please feel free to drop me a line. It looks like you've got things covered for the most part (didn't know you would need insurance for the alcohol, most people in limited service hotels BYoB), but if there are any loose ends I'd be more than happy to help (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Wow - that is a really kind offer, and I much do appreciate it. As you say, though, things at this point are pretty much all sorted, but if any other weird problems pop up, I will definitely run them by you. Thanks.

Wow I haven't played that CCG in years. Maybe I'll stop out. I'm running events 3 of the 4 days but if i can dig out my old cards I'm down.

Even if you can't find your cards, stop by anyways. The more, the merrier, I'd like to meet as many folks as possible from onine and stuff, and we're gonna have extra decks to either hand out or let you borrow as needed (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Oh yeah, I'm all ready for the con now. My Predator just got delivered today... I can keep all sorts of order with this thing. I was fully impressed, and airsoft that dwarfs my Desert Eagle. Might have to use it for the Scramble as well (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

That's the one you showed me, ne? That is an awesome piece. I'll be sad if it's not at the Scramble.

So - drifting totally off this thread topic --- are they all hardcore at the con about toy guns being neon orange and so forth? Or do we get around that because the Scramble is not at the convention center?

In fact, if it is not at the convention center, are all the rules off? (Laser pointers???)

This is why I carry all mine around in cases.. cause it depends on who you run into and how they feel. I take the Airsoft usualt view of thing (which is equal to federal limits) Orange tips on all my weapons (except my DEs when playing, cause the stupid things fall out anyway). Most airsoft folk I know have extra tips, ones for transport and ones for play. I've seen Stormtroopers get hassled at the doors fo rtheir fake weapons... I wish they'd do what they have at SWCelebrations and just have a check in booth that gives you a badge sticker saying its a replica weapon.

Final Confirmation

This will be my last post on this thread.

The Hilton has given us final confirmation on the room.

The event will take place in Circle City 3.
It will start at 11:00 pm on Friday night, and run as long as people can stay awake (or 7:00 am, whichever comes first).
See you there.

Synner mentioned this at the Catalyst Game Labs booth, I am totally in for the meet and greet.

I don't own any Shadowrun cards though.

Thanks eidolon for making that post.

Apologies to all for the very anarchic first hour. Although I talked to catering face to face on Wednesday, they still totally dropped the ball. The work order was overlooked. At a little before 11:00 we pointed out their error and they quickly opened the room and set up some tables (although the attendees ended up doing most of the work).

End result -
Some people thought it was cancelled or something and missed out.
A lot of people had to endure a late-night hour of confusion as we got things sorted.
A lot of good meet & greeting did eventually get done!
And I guess about 30 people - mostly first-timers - learned and played SRTCG!

Many thanks to all that brought refreshments.
Special thanks to Bull and Jack Robustus - I had decks for folks to USE, but they had lotsa good decks to GIVE to people. Way to go guys.
Thanks also go to Bull, RaccoonDog and Jack and others who provided a great first experience to the card game by teaching all the first-timers.

Thanks all for the Meet and Greet and learning how to play the card game. I'm bummed that I didn't buy any when the game first came out, it's lots of fun. Thanks to Bull and Jack for providing cards! Thanks Adamu for organizing things to begin with.
