It doesn't take Kambei more than a few seconds to gain admin-level access to the drone, but he knows there's a scan program running, so each action he takes will run some risk. Editing the drone's camera feed will be doable though. Kambei is pleasantly surprised at managing the feat but tries not to feel overconfident about his skills as he attempts to spoof the drone’s sensor feeds. If he manages to get that done without being detected he attempts to determine if there is any electronic security on the windows he would have to hack or whether that’s more of hardware problem. |

[ Spoiler ] Kambei manages to edit the drone feed - at least for a long enough tim so he can get closer and maybe get inside. The drone has no connection to the window, so he'd have to find that node - if there is one broadcasting, and it's not a hardwired one - or try his electronics skill to fool the sensor. |

Kambei quickly approaches the house trying his best to look like an average repairman and quickly scans the house in thermo to see if the bleary eye Korean is on this side of the house. If it’s clear, he gets close enough to the window to inspect it for its security hardware as he activates his Hardware chip to let his wires guide his fingers. |

[ Spoiler ] Kambei doesn't see the koreans, so they probably are on the other side of the building. His skillsoft takes over, and a few seconds later the sensor at the window is taken care of. |

[ Spoiler ] Kambei takes a quick look around to see if anyone is watching, and then slides the window open and quickly slips inside. Once inside he quickly strips off the jumpsuit and rolls it up and stuffs it inside his chameleon suit before activating it to search inside. Nothing better than breaking and entering at eight in the morning... [ Spoiler ] |

The flat Kambei is in doesn't look like Wu's appartement - unless the doctor's taste runs towards cheap beer, cheap movies, and matrix games. From a security point of view, it makes sense to not have the doctor live on the ground floor, but higher up. There's a door to the floor, the kitchen, bath, and another room to the back. Some sounds from the bath indicate that the tenant is in the shower. |

Kambei listens to the shower as he takes a quick look around for anything that looks interesting, unusual or particularily out of place before looking for the way into the upper floors. |

The door to the floor is no obstacle, and the stairs seem clear. [ Spoiler ] Before the shower stops, Kambei slips into the floor, and up the stairs. Before he reaches the first floor though he spots a hidden camera covering the next stair to the second floor. |

Hmm... definitely gonna need a lot of practice before I stop feeling nervoous hacking. To risk the battle between the chameleon suit with thermal dampening versus that camera or to just hack... I think I'll hack. Kambei attempts to find the camera's node to hack his way past it. I really need to get a good sniffer program... |

[ Spoiler ] Kambei takes a fraction of a seocnd longer to ahck into the camera. In other situations, that might have spelled his doom, but here it is an irrelevant delay, nothing more. A quick edit operation later he's past the camera. The door on the first floor doesn't have a "wu" tag. If Wu turned the upper two floors in a single appartement, then this would be the flat of the second korean. |

I'm gonna have to get a lot better with this hacking business before I can use it in the middle of an emergency... Kambei approaches the door and inspects it before scanning to see if there is a node to bypass or whether he would do better with his electronics kit. |

[ Spoiler ] Kambei doesn't find any local node at the door. The maglock also looks not too sophisticated - so this is probably where the second korean lives, unless doctor Wu has a taste for old electronics. Bypassing the lock would not take much time at all. |

[ Spoiler ] The door upstairs looks more solid, and the maglock seems to be brand new. Maybe the yakuza didn't want anyone to put the moves on the second of their doctors, and invested in better security, or wisdom came with age in this case, and Wu himself had it installed. But he's at work, so they'll probably have lower security around right now. [ Spoiler ] Kambei scans several seconds for a hidden node, but there's nothing he can detect - either there is no node, or it's not in wireless mode. Not impossible - a house that old might have a wired network still in use. New maglock, and old-style non-wireless security... not impossible to defeat, but a difficult combination in this circumstance. |

Kambei sighs, life isn't always easy... He considers trying one of the windows to see if it is less protected, but it's unlikely they wouldn't have upgraded that portion of the security. He lets his fingers be guided by his wires and skillchip as he attempts to bypass the security system through a combination of his various tools, passkey, and sequencer if necessary. [ Spoiler ]

[ Spoiler ] Kambei almost blows it when he starts to open the maglock case. That new lock model had the wires somewhere else than usual, or so he discovers when he almsot triggers an alert. Once past that, it's easy though, and soon the maglock's circuits are laid bare to him. [ Spoiler ] Even so, it takes him almost 30 seconds to open the lock - the keypad makes it difficult. Then the appartement of Dr. Wu is open to him. [ Spoiler ] The appartement is almost spartan - feng shui at work it seems. What furniture there is is of high quality though, although often old. Kambei quickly searches the flat, and finds a few oddities. There's a meditation room on the top floor, an office-like room with a top of the line computer, a room that could serve as a doctor's practise, a living room, a bedroom, and a room that seems not in regular use, but belonging to a teenage girl. There are no pictures visible, so the doctor probably use AR for decoration - but logging on to the node is risky, if there are no visitors expected when Wu is away. |

It's still damn early and I should have a lot of time to look without being interrupted, gotta avoid the temptation to log into his node though... Kambei begins a much more thorough look through Dr. Wu's apartment while being careful to return any items to their original condition and being aware of any additional security he could risk tripping. |

Kambei takes his time, and finds not just an additional security system, installed, but not yet working - an infrared motion detector - but also a chip hidden inside a box containing chinese spices as well as yuan notes stashed under the sink. All in all the flat looks - with the exception of the room that seems to house a teenage girl at times - spartan, or ready to be left at the drop of a hat. |

Kambei considers scannig the chip to see what's in it but holds off till he searches the part-time teenager room. I wonder if he is divorced with a daughter or whether it's something more creepy... After he does a thorough check of the room he plugs the chip into his commlink to see what's on it. |

The teenager room reveals not much, other than an abundance of the newest "in" stuff for girls - it looks like someone bought from the latest magazine ads, not following a style. There are signs of use, but they look several months old - souvernirs from a concert of a boy group. The chip's encrypted, asking for a code. |

Kambei scratches his head, a bit baffled by the teenager's room, and pockets the chip and puts a blank chip in its place and then returns the box to where he found it. Then he heads back downstairs to the last apartment he hasn't checked yet. |

The door to the appartement is not much of an obstacle, as Kambei saw before. His skillwires have the lock open within 30 seconds. [ Spoiler ] Once inside, the appartement looks sloppy. Lots of take away containers stapled in the corners, clothes strewn around, empty bottles, and leftovers. [ Spoiler ] Kambei hears breathing from a room away. Even breathing, like a human sleeping. |

Kambei is very careful as he makes a cursory attempt to search the apartment for anything that stands out. I'd want to hurry it up even if he wasn't here. This place stinks. [ Spoiler ]

Kambei quietly and efficiently searches the appartement. In the living room, he finds a case for a chip, with a hand-written note in Korean on it. A picture of it, sent to a matrix translator site, reveals that it means "Female Japanese Traffic Cop". Kambei doesn't find the chip though. A glance into the bedroom reveals that the korean is not there - there's a woman sleeping in the bed, half-covered by sheets. She looks korean to Kambei, about 20. There are also the remains of a cheap police costume on the floor around the bed, including a fake stun baton, as well as several cans of cheap beer - empty. A set of cuffs is draped over the rails of the bed. Then Kambei's ears pick up a dialogue from the stairs - two men, talking in korean, laughing. |

Kambei figuring it is worth the investment, quickly hits a language chip node and purchases a rating two Koran language chip. He quickly installs the software, cursing the licensing prompts he is forced to go through and then amplifies the voice of the two Koreans to see if they say anything of value. |
