The above thread mentioned Mounties, and also provided the following link: http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=M4lWGIlGZCY

This has convinced me that Mounties campaigns should be run using SR3 rules. This is because Mounties are sterotypically known for nonviolence, (in spite of the fact that I guess recently they've had a few stinks) and at the same time in SR3 it's ridiculously effective to use stun attacks rather than physical-causing attacks.

Therefore, there could be a campaign centered around storming buildings filled with, say, squatters, but then instead of shooting everyone you strategically beat the tar out of them with fists, feet, stun prods, and shotguns loaded with gel rounds. Ideally the GM would create situations for a lot of physical-beatdown slapstick.

Zen riddle: If someone throws a Chuck Norris roundhouse kick while wearing a red Mounties getup, does the world explode?

Only Chuck Norris can throw Chuck Norris Roundhouse kicks, this is the reason he's never played a mountie.

To appreciate the awesomeness of Mounties, I recommend fast-forwarding the above video to six minutes.

The following clip is also awesome.

I think that the Mounties should always wear the red getup with the stetson. Imagine the shock value when they C2 your doorknob in, flash you, and point Diemarco C7s in your face if they were also wearing red outfits and stetsons. I think I'd scream, foul myself, and break down into a catatonic state.

This is because Mounties are sterotypically known for nonviolence

You, sir, are obviously unfamiliar with the Charles Bronson movie "Death Hunt." Or as I like to think of it "Canadian Rambo."

Is it, like Canadian bacon, leaner and tastier than bacon bacon?

Actually, it's older and more violent than Rambo, but making me say that makes it sound not very Canadian at all. It's got Mounties with machine guns, though.

Hey, you know, the Canadian Forces: Direct Action mod lets you use a Mountie skin, IIRC.

There's definitely something quite dirty-sounding about the idea of just casually wearing a Mountie skin.

Bu bronson is the 'criminal' rather than the harder than nails vigilitante who turns part of new york into a 'full on Bosnian war front' and then shots someone in the face with a rocket launcher in the most obviously foreshadowed and most hilarious action movie kill in cinema history.

... but right now, my friend, you're in the dominion of Canada.

And there is ample proof that mounties are related to ninjas.
http://www.youtube.com/watch?v=9L5ABcmdRzA
After all, only a ninja could deflect bullets with a sword.

A team of Mounties and patrolling the Great Lakes in a perfect replica of the HMS bounty might make for a good alternate Shadowrun campaign (using SR3 naval combat rules, of course, due to the distinct lack of them in SR4).
