I'm a longtime fan of Shadowrun, but never managed to pick up the books until recently. I'm looking for people to form a group in or around the San Luis Obispo area. I actually live in Pismo Beach, but I work in San Luis and can pretty much get to anywhere from Morro Bay to Arroyo Grande for a game.

Since I'm new to actually playing the game, I'd prefer to find an experienced GM who wouldn't mind showing me the ropes (and probably fragging my first few characters in the process (IMG:style_emoticons/default/ohplease.gif) ) but if worst comes to worst I'd be willing to take up the reins and give it a shot.

Also, I'd prefer this be an SR4 game, since those are the only books I have, but if someone has rulebooks for a different version I'd be open to that too. Honestly, I'm not that picky--supply and demand, ne?

Holly carp. I was planning on starting a 4e Shadowrun game at Game Theory ( The Poly gaming club), sometime in mid July.

Well, guess I came back just in time...

Poly huh? I was wondering where all the gamers in this town went after they closed that shop and turned it into a Kinkos.

So, do you have to be a Poly student to participate or can a Cuesta dropout like me stop by? (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)

Considering I was kicked out of UCD, and two of my freinds are current Cuesta students, I should think so.

Are you going to polycon? Considering the Theme this year is Cyber and Steam (Punk), I'm surprised no-one is running shadowrun.

Polycon?

Would you believe I've lived here for 10 years and I've never heard of it?

Sounds interesting though...

...anyway let me know when and where to show up for a run and I'll be happy to swing by. And in case you're wondering, I'm the guy who snagged that copy of Augmentation from Cheap Thrills. I can bring that by too, if you like.

(And if nobody's grabbed their copy of Street Magic yet, consider it a race--'cuz I get paid tomorrow.)

Poly-Con/. It isn't a race for shadowrun books for me, though. I have all the core books released so far, including Unwired. I'm not sure I'll be running a game there, as I am unable to contact the people who are running it.

"PolyCon is the premiere gaming convention of the Central Coast of California."

To my knowledge, it's the only gaming convention on the central coast. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/talker.gif)

Sounds interesting, though I probably won't be going this year. The buses aren't running because of the holiday, and I already planned on going to the renaissance fair that month with some friends--which is going to cost me because I don't own any European swords, and as a lifelong swordsman I don't intend to go unarmed. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Yeah, I's po, but if I have to choose between spending money to pretend I'm walking around with a blade on my hip, and spending money to actually do it, I'll pick the real thing every time. Too bad they don't allow visitors to spar at the faire...

Anyway, I'm definitely interested in coming by for the regular Game theory meetings and getting an SR game going--though with the times I'd be stuck at the office overnight, and I'd have to miss the last Friday of each month since that when my gallery has it's closing receptions.

Damn, that does sound good--and the time would be more bus-schedule freindly if it weren't the 4th of friggin july so there's no bus service at all that day. (Turns out they *will* be running on the weekend--just not the 4th) Hell, the plot even sounds like something I could easily bring Bad News Johnny into. "I'd been hired to locate this chip, thing was, so were these other guys..."

Damn, I may have to do something about this...

Don't know about the city bus, but the cross-town buses don't run on the 4th, so there's no way for me to get to SLO from Pismo.

http://www.slorta.org/schedules.htm

Damn, shame--I would have liked to have gone. Anyway, I'll try to make it in for the game theory group next time--although that website seems to be down today, so I can't double-check the times.

Was it Fridays at 5pm?

Well alright. I may be a little busy getting ready for the renfaire, but I'll try to come in this friday. I finally got a copy of Street Magic too, so I may have some new awakened characters to throw into the grinder.

Now all I need is the martial arts rules from arsenal and I can finally finish stating out my mystic adept anarchist cult leader concept. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/cool.gif)
