Can someone just clairfy whether I have got thinks right if I am doing the following:

Assume Agility 5, Pistols 5, Edge 5, no specialistion, smartlink or other things that affect the hit.

1. Shoot normally - roll 10 dice, 5+ dice come up 1 = glitch, 5+ dice come up 1 and no dice >5 then critical glitch
2. Use edge with roll - roll 15 dice, 8+ dice come up 1 = glitch, 8+ dice comeup 1 and no dice >5 then critical glitch. If any of the 15 dice rolled with edge come up 6 re-reroll them, possibly getting extra hits, but can you get extra glitched?
3. Use Edge after roll - roll 10 dice followed by 5 dice, 5+ dice come up 1 = glitch, 5+ dice come up 1 and no dice > 5 then critical glitch. If any of the 5 dice rolled with edge come up 6 re-reroll them, possibly getting extra hits, but can you get extra glitched?
4. Use Edge to reroll failures - roll 10 dice, reroll any <5, 5+ dice come up 1 = glitch, 5+ dice come up one and no dice >5 then critical glitch.
5. Cancel the effect of glitch of critical glitch

Assuming I've got all that right why would you ever use option 5 - surely it would always be better to use option 3 or 4 (3 if you have a high edge rating and low initial dice pool, 4 if you have a low edge rating and high initial dice pool)?

but a glitch or critical glitch would i think dont have BBB with to check still carries over with 3 and 4 and a glitch or critical glitch could land you in some serous dek also you could rule that 5 can effect other peoples rolls to as if some one gets a critical glitch you could cancle it so you dont ened up in small pieces ect

Because you don't roll Edge every time. Some time you are going to be making a roll with a good DP and still manage to Glitch it. And on a Critical Glitch I've always played that you can't use Edge to reroll it.

But by RAW as far as I can tell a player could used Edge to Reroll.

If they did and still had a Glitch or Critical Glitch then the only way they could spend more edge on the roll would be to negate the glitch or downgrade the critical Glitch to a normal Glitch.

ON 2 through 4, if you are using the rule of 6 and got a 6 so you can reroll it, then even if you roll a one, it doesn't count towards a glitch because your first roll of that dice was a 6 not a one. You are just checking for extra successes.

On 3 it says roll dice equal to your Edge and add the hits to your success total. Since it does not mention the ones adding to your glitch total, I'd say no.

On the others, I would say GM's call. They are not likely to glitch if they are rerolling the failures or if they are rolling a lot of dice, so if it does happened I say go with it if it helps the game or cut the player some slack if it doesn't. I mean they did spend Edge so they should get a little GM grace if they need it.

Only problem I see is that hits count on a five or six, so you should replace the "no dice >5" with "no dice >4".
