Hi,
I am wondering where a a few of my favs are on the new site. Where is the timeline explorer, and what happened to the clueless files? I am picking up SR after a leave of a few years, and I still remember me laughing while reading the CF;-) As I am preparing something new, the timeline would be handy. Cheers, B. |

Have you tried http://wiki.dumpshock.com yet? Just did, thank you for the link ;-) It is fine but not exactly what I am looking for: not enough detail. What I am looking for is the current version of http://web.archive.org/web/20051121201414/...lorerIndex.php3, if there is one somewhere... Oh, and I have just downloaded the clue files from the same source. I can put them online, if anyone is interested. Cheers, B. |

Those unfortunately weren't brought back. Unfortunately the few people that could bring back the Timeline Explorer simply never have the time. The CLUE files were reproduced on Knasser's site for a while, along with some updated stories, but he has since closed his doors as well. You would have to PM him for any more information on their fate. The CLUE files are still out there, just not here on Dumpshock.
As for the fate of the Time line Explorer, Redjack and I rally for it every few months, but sadly there's other things higher on people's priority lists. We've even talked about ressurecting it and then incorporating the newer books, but again, at this point, that's as far as it has gone. |

Hi fistandantilus,
Thank you for your answer. The CLUE files are indeed out there somewhere. I have found them at archive.org (http://web.archive.org/web/20051215105711/...shock.com/CLUE/). After ten years they are still hilarious (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) Has anyone had a similar initiative? Regarding the timeline explorer, does someone have the data source. A flat text file will do. What I intend to do with it is at first post it as is, then parse it and import it into a database with a publicly accessible web front end. Some googling brought me to http://www.ag-shadow.de/Timeline/timeline1.htm, unfortunately it doesn't go any further than 2058, and it has been compiled in 1998 apparently. Is there a newer version somewhere? Cheers, B. |

Knasser put together an updated CLUE(less) file, which was the one I noted previously.
It's been literally years since I last saw the Timeline Explorer, so I may be misremembering, But I don't think it included updates to '61. I'll bug Redjack a bit more , see if we can get another push on it. Feel free to PM him too. I figure the more people we annoy ... well.. it's just fun to annoy people really. A shame he got crazy with pdf: while its old website is archived at the WayBackMachine, the pdf docs aren't. As to bugging Redjack... does he bites? there's right now several people who will rehost knassers stuff . . me included as soon as i can kick my manservants ass to get him to host on his server <.< . . of course knassers stuff archive will make an appearance in my signature then *g* |
