Greetings all,

I got a couple questions I hope someone here can help with.

I have an eleven man squad (1 rigger, 1 mage, 9 cybered) from Aztlan. They would be considered elite soldiers using nothing but Aztechnology gear.

My questions are:

1) What kind of helicopter would they use to transport into the jungle?
2) What would be the standard issue SMG, Assault Rifle, LMG, and sidearm?
3) What ranks are equivalent to Sergeant, Corporal, and Private in Aztlan?

Thanks for any answers or ideas.

1: Hawker-Ridley Skytrain

2: depends on the enviroment. in the jungle, I would imagine shotguns, LMGs, assault carbines, and sidearms. UBGLs, various types of grenades (incindiery, offensive, smoke)

3:I don't understand. they're pretty much the same. unless you mean a translation of language.

If you wish the ranks in spanish because after all Aztlan was Mexico i can put them here:

Private = Soldado Razo.
Corporal = Cabo.
Sergeant = Sargento.
Captain = Capitán.

And i dont remember the other ranks on english.

Assuming they follow a roughly American ranking system:

Enlisted Rankings:
E-1: PVT, Private
E-2: PV2, Private
E-3: PFC, Private First Class
E-4: SPC, Specialist -or- CPL, Corporal
E-5: SGT, Sergeant
E-6: SSG, Staff Sergeant
E-7: SFC, Sergeant First Class
E-8: MSG, Master Sergeant -or- 1SG, First Sergeant
E-9: SGM, Sergeant Major -or- CSM, Command Sergeant Major

Commissioned Officer Rankings:
O-1: 2LT, Second Lieutenant
O-2: 1LT, First Lieutenant
O-3: CPT, Captain
O-4: MAJ, Major
O-5: LTC, Lieutenant Colonel
O-6: COL, Colonel
O-7: BG, Brigadier General (1 star)
O-8: MG, Major General (2 stars)
O-9: LG, Lieutenant General (3 stars)

A little creative Googling will provide you with a comprehensive list and, with a look effort, current Mexican military ranking structure.

Concerning 2): Since there aren't any Atztech-made small-arms any of the SBs I'm aware of, you might just pick the stats of a gun you like, call it the "AztecArms (insert cool-sounding spanish word for a predator*) and roll with it.

Also, fluff-wise, the Azzies are said to field disproportionally many awakened operatives - high-powered adepts and mages, usually following that strange atzlanian state-relgion/tradition/blodd-magic mash-up.

In my game the regular azzie grunts are issued ak 97s because it's the cheapest, most reliable gun to use in jungle skirmishes -it also fits with the Hollywood villain theme the azzies sometimes represent...-

For special forces; well, they might use whatever they want. I would have a couple soldiers covering the scout /sniper role. (I would also replace one or two of the nine cyberguys for adepts or mystic adepts, make the most of azsies reputation for blood magic use)

Good luck with your game!

Quite a lot depends on how "Elite" you mean.

A standard-issue team of soldiers would have knockoffs of Ares gears (Just file the name off, replace it with something both Spanish and militaristic, and off you go!), armored vests or jackets, maybe some vsion enhancer helmet with comm gear, top it off with combat drugs and a few grenades and you're good to go.

If you're talking ELITE, then there's two mages in there, four or five physads, and the rest are cyber'd up like mad. They're using Ares-style weapons again, backed with MilSpec armor and all kinds of craziness.

Of course, you can also never go wrong with "Latin Badguy Swarm 101", with stubbly guys in wifebeaters and hats, each with a machette and an AK-97. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif)

Aztlan and it's "Three Million Miguel Army" and all that. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

Apparently, the boots suck, too.

If you are googling, the term you want is "grade."

You can probably break this up into three elements first:

Headquarters Element: (1 rigger, 3 cyber guys)
Squad Leader (Possibly one of the cybered guys, with tactical computer)
Rigger (Piloting the Helo)
Medic (Appropriate medical gear)
Communications Bubba (Commo)

Maneuver Element: (all Cyber Guys)
Element Leader (Grenade Launcher)
Automatic Rifleman (Light Machine Gun, 1000 Rounds Ammunition)
Point Man (Common Gear)

Support Element: (2 cyber guys, 1 mage)
Element Leader (Grenade Launcher)
Support Gunner (HMG, 2000 rounds of ammunition)
Mage (SMG for personal protection, 180 rounds of ammunition)

Gear Common to All:
Modded Assault Rifles (unless otherwise stated), 360 Rounds of Ammo, Water, field biotech kit, light military armor

As for the gear itself, I agree with filing the serial numbers off of some ares weaponry and just putting something vaguely Aztec related would be fine.
