http://icomic.com/index.php?option=com_con...4&Itemid=31 http://www.bornrich.org/gallery/chanel-rocket-launcher_5784/ http://www.dentrinity.com/ClarenceLai/mc.htm In a world where firearms carrying is increasingly popular and even people rish enough to afford bodyguards probably have their own pistols, it is almost inevitable that firearms will become a fashion accessory and the wealthy and the fashionable will demand expensive designer firearms which proudly display named brands. And, come on, DNI + Smartlink targeting = practical gun shoes. So, whhere are the Louis Vuitton pistols and the Chanel rocket launchers? |

A number of weapons were listed with the first comments in the advertisements being that the main selling points were that they were available in "This year's power colours."

(Internets ate my last reply...)
I assumed that either this would be covered under the extra costs for tres chic/fine/whatever clothing, or you can just put down an extra $100-$1,000 for the 'nicer' weapon with little add-ons. That said, unusual colors or patterns would be fairly commonplace. With guns as popular as they are and the industry trying to break into more demographics, I have to imagine that things like kalashnakitty would be almost common place (and certainly not any more expensive). |

...In the character description note that the Short One packs a pair of Super Warhawks styled like vintage Ruger Super Blackhawks, blued metal 10.5" barrels, with M.o.P. inlay handles.

I think that if I found a used H&K for a damn good price I'd have to get some engraving done, the parts powder coated pink and white, and emblazon hello kitty on the grip. Tell me that a HK H&K with "Goodbye Kitty" down the slide wouldn't be pure awesome. Of course then the quest would be to find it a sister to do in black and blue for Badtz Maru...

The original Street Samurai Catalogue had that sort of thing with the Manhunter. Sort of "As used by bounty hunter Andrea mcBane."
The problem with brand name guns is that they are kind of like celebrity endorements for kitchenware. Rubes will buy this at the mall but you really think Ruhlman or Battali or Jimmy Sears give a rats' ass about Emeril's name on the side of a food processor? Or a pan? Is the world really so out there that you have a brand name for the guns? who's going to be famous neough for that endorsment? These guys are in the light and ou8t of the shadows. Dog the Bounty Hunter ain't doing it. |

Bounty Hunting is a legitimate job, so he might never have been in the Shadows.
As well, it states "Designed for Colt by Andrea McBane". Colt has a tradition of doing this, for instance, the Colt Walker Revolver. |

Not neccessarily. Just because they're not in the "Shadows" doesn't mean they can't have "Shadow Contacts".
After all, Shadowrunners have contacts in the Light. And those same contacts in the Light have the 'Runners as contacts in the Shadows. It goes both ways. Just means he isn't likely to take paper on the folks he knows unless it's REALLY worth his while! |
