Ah, but if they're all dead, then who's doing the telling?

I'd just put them in black mil-spec armour. Maybe an ARES logo. Maybe The centurion in red. If they want to display themselves as firewatch, they'd have it in AR.

But mainly I think they'd want to dissassociate themselves with the Red Samurai silliness, "I ain't dancing around in an armoured skirt with an ork mask on!"

The main way you'd tell I suppose, is that your opponents would be carrying Ares Alpha's, with a side of Ares Predator, and were destroying you.

Ares is public about Firewatch, right? i guess it hadn't occured to me that they'd be "black" status. i had figured that if you're gonna be paying for a crisis solving strike team, you'd want the good press they'd generate.

Special Forces teams do not "generate good press". They generate bodies.

Bodies are good press, so long as they are the correct bodies.

Bug Bodies, Terrorist Cells, Shadowrunners... Scum that are dangerous to the general populous and is a reason to hire lots and lots of security forces in order to be safe. And, if you don't like the responce times from the security forces, Ares offers many self-defensive means at Weapon's World locations that are convient in location and price!

Weapon's World: The gun that saves your life probably came from here!

I was under the impression they had gone public. Isn't Firefight being marketed as "The Firewatch Martial Art"?
As I understood it, Firewatch's official status was "Knight Errant's special weapons and tactics division". Whilst they moonlight as special forces, in the public eye they're capturing terrorists and other heroic stuff.

As for insignia, if I recall correctly there's some mention in Corporate Download of each Firewatch team having it's own badge.
