So I know it wound be to unbalancing to add TMs to the mix. How would one describe the awakening of any type to the player and be cryptic. Easier with awakened than with TMs as well after a few minutes any could see that they are a TM argh my ARs still on but my comlinks off and over there.

Why would it be unbalancing to add TMs to the mix? Should be 100% okay.

Letting TMs have Latent Awakening and then Awaken without losing Resonance would be unbalancing, but it would be unbalancing by creating a character that is so karma-hungry that it is practically useless.
Describing the Awakening is easy. Have it occur in a stressful situation, such as combat. Say, for example, the Latant Awakening PC gets shot. Take on some extra unresisted damage (to represent drain) and have a spirit show up to kick the butt of the character who shot the PC. You can also have them reflexively cast a spell without knowing it the same way. For Adepts, give them a power and have them use that power without telling them, adding its effects whenever appropriate. |

Already using it in my campaign (just took the rules for latent awakening and tweaked them for latent emergence)
The character in question is a japanese elf-rigger who keeps experiencing strange 'double' sensations, but hasn't figured anything out yet. (his body is learning how to interpret the signels, so when he got dumped out of one of his drones by a technomancer he felt wet.) He also has the occasional flickers of things seen out of the corner of his eyes. I figure, when he emerges, his resonance will be 1 and his max resonance will be the usual 6-essence loss. |
