First off Welcome to the Shadows, Chummer.
Here's the scan: All play by post (pbp) games are ran in the Welcome to the Shadows forum. Most games actively looking for players will have a topic with a subject that begins with "Recruiting". Most games also have both IC (In Character) and OOC (Out Of Character) threads. It is definitely a breach of etiquette to post in a game's IC topic without being invited. If you find a game you like and it appears to be light on characters but does not have a Recruiting topic, I suggest sending the GM a PM. Worst case they tell you they are not recruiting, best you find a game. As a new player, I would caution you about pbp games. They are long term games that usually turn slowly and require a level of commitment to see it through. For example, I have games that are years old. The Shadowrun Missions forum is everything Missions. The Missions coordinator (the_dunner) and many Mission's GM's, authors and players check in there. You will find rules clarifications. The Play SR4 Missions topic is a topic where Missions GMs post in for upcoming games. Lastly, the GM Registry is a forum where GM's and player try to hook up for table-top games. |

well, i played a dnd game by pbp before, but the gm lost interest after 4 months. i would rather get my fix by playing online than not at all. lol. for some reason, shadowrun doesnt seem to have that large a following. lol. at least, not anymore and where i have been stationed at. lol.
Also, do most the gm's here do dice rolls themselves? my d&d game i played before, we rolled our own die, but we used an online die roller so if they wanted to they could check on our rolls. |
