Ditto. Got a non-subscription link that describes the same topic?

You can use Dumpshock's collective ID like many of us do:

Username: Dumpshock
Password: Forum

(note that there is no "s" at the end of Forum)

Enjoy!

That does indeed look cool. Looks like the precursor to the tech in Minority Report.

Enjoy!

I wasn't aware of that collective password/ID. Thank you for telling me about it.

The system is interesting and, actually, more advanced than SR's trideo, which normally uses a flat screen display like the new Sharp LCD monitors.

From what I read, it's not trideo at all... just a regular screen ("flatvid" in Shadowrun terms) that's projected in the air instead of from an LCD or cathrode-ray tube.

More linkage. My idea was to have this technology intigrated into a toilet. A bright FLUSH icon floating in the dark would be easy to find and germ free. :D

I can easily see these things serving as navigation displays for vehicles in the future, since you can actually see through the display.

Well, Spielberg did gather a huge think tank for the movie, aimed at creating "technology" that would be believable and plausible in a nearby future.

Now, where's that jetpack? :)

Hell, they demo'd jet packs at the 1984 Olympics in Los Angeles. Of course, they're a bit bulky and short-use compared to what was seen in Minority Report, but the tech's already there... :D

It seems to me that the tech for this two dimensional display wouldn't be that hard to adapt to project images in three dimensions. It might be necessary to have two or more separate projectors, though, so that they interact and produce the 3D effect.

1) I posted a link to this a month ago... yoiu people are behind the times :D

2) Sharp already owns the patent on a working 3d screen doat does not need any special goggles to see. It's not actually 3d, but your eyes see it in stereo making it 3d to you.

BitBasher: I know you did, I'm just updating it. Besides, I couldn't find the thread ;)

What tech does Sharp's device use?
