Since it's looking like we're going to have quite the gathering, and snacks were discussed at some point, I figured I'd post up and see if we could geta few volunteers to bring some snacks and pop.

Adamu: I know the booze is out, but are they cool if we bring pop and chips and such?

Anyways, we should probably get some folks lined up to bring various pops and chips/pretzels type snack foods.

I'll bring a little bit of both, probably, but I'll put myself down as in charge of plates and cups. If anyone is planning to bring something that needs cut or scooped, I'll also bring some plasticware (forks, spoons, etc) if you let me know ahead of time (by Monday night/early early Tuesday Morning).

Anyone else willing to volunteer?

And room service is 24 hours....

But to answer your question, Bull, I think the Hilton has some rule about outside food and drink, but they really don't care. They have been straightforward with me about a lot of stuff - they have tacitly let me know that they are fully aware of cons and people partying and so forth. They as much as indicated they didn't really care much about booze at the party - without actually saying so, of course.

Then they sort of drew the line at assuming liability.

But I can't imagine Doritos and Cokes being much danger. And since they clearly don't mind, I am sure we have a green light on snacks and beverages.

There will be a water machine in the room.

As long as I don't ask about the Hotel assuming liability for the strippers escorts we ordered, there won't be any problem will there?

@Dire Radiant if you can get those escorts to come out of a cake that will take care of some serious snackage!

@Bull If only I could magically transport the leftover plates, cups, etc., from my parents recent 50th wedding anniversary party you would have no need to bring that kind of stuff. I will do my bit and purchase chips and soda to bring to the party. Maybe even one of those fruit trays, or a meat and cheese tray, or some nuts. I'll have to see what the local grocers have available.

@adamu Should we get a bit messy and the hotel hit us up with a cleaning fee, please know that I will pitch in on that as well.

Count me in for a snackage contribution. Having played cards with Adamu in the past (including one all-nighter in Narita) I know well how Pringles and Dr. Pepper get a party hopping!

Hmmm - naked women or shadowrun cards...I think my attention will be on my cards - Tinkerbell and Jade will keep me plenty warm.

Bull, you're the one who'll be in costume to begin with? Something about leather and nerf attachments...
