aside from being able to say:"that one is some kind of awakened, probably some kind of adept" is there any way to get something more specific?

Yes, as long as the adept in question knows the list of powers. For latent or subconscious powers you are out of your luck.

But to answer your question, Stahlseele, you can't tell the powers just by assensing him.
That's a slight advantage, agreed.

Wether it makes up for the other weaknesses is up to you to decide.
Combat adepts do make better specialists than sams (if you put in muscle toner and synaptic boosters), but i'd prefer a good, old-fashioned cybermonster as main gunner and the adept as the group's face/cat burglar.
