Is there a way to account for buying off inherent qualities (like Sapient Critters' Uneducated) quality?

Is there a way to account for buying off inherent qualities (like Sapient Critters' Uneducated) quality? If not, you can do it by hand. The "Skill Expand Group BP" cell works as a wildcard: you just enter a number of BP and they are subtracted from the total. Write -20 and you bought back the quality. I have been using this trick to set the knowledge skill count right. |

Also, you can always enter in a negative amount of Karma in the Karma_Log, and note the source in the description.

It seems like there are about as many active skill rows as there are active skills.
Maybe it would make sense to just list out all the skills that exist, with group rows above grouped skills. With a tiered calculation ("group" level feeding into skill levels, then individual skill purchases stacked on top) you could do away with the bp/karma kludge when just one skill in a group is advanced. Also, of course, you could easily list skills individually on the character sheet instead of just listing groups. |

Pixie Walk/Run speed is listed as 15/35. It should be 1/4 with a flying speed of 20/50. (RC pg.85)

Not sure if someone already mentioned this but Centaurs, Nagas, and Sasquaches all have a maximum edge of 5, not 6.
Also, Pixies have a maximum edge of 7, not 6. Love the character generator and all your hard work Damian. |

Also, Pixies speed has been replaced with the 20/50 fly speed. I had a pixie with Celerity and didnt realize I could go 75 meters/turn. Woooo! Peter pan, eat my dust! |

While true, flight speed has always been based on walking speed. Pixie's normal walking/running speed has nothing to do with its flying walking/running speeds. completdly different stats. Does celerity explicitly augment the legs? Ut could just as well be the wings or the magical anti-gravity field. yes. QUOTE (RC page 112) Characters with this quality benefit from strengthening of
the musclature involved in running. Leg muscles become ropy and more prominent. |

OK so the pixie would get a walking/running rate of 1/6 for celerity. Wow. That makes more sense.

Excellent resource. Thank you very much for such a well made piece. I only have one complication in regards to AI characters, that being the Home Node feature which does not allow me to access it. I can interact with the normal lifestyle options, but I am unable to fiddle with the Node at all.

You can fix this yourself by unprotecting the sheet (no password, in excel 2003 its Tools->Protection->Unprotect Sheet) then going to the cells you need to interact with and formatting the cells, go the 'protection' tab and uncheck the 'Locked' option. I unlocked cells R4, S6-10, and T14 in version L. |

Okay so, I was working on a character and had filled out the Cyber/Bioware tab with all the stuff I wanted. I then later decided that I wanted to change a few things, gave myself the "Type O System" quality, and went back to change some of my cyberware and bioware. As soon as I edited the cell and hit enter though, the program crashed.
Every time I've attempted this, it has crashed. I even re-downloaded it and it still crashes. Does anyone else have this problem? PS. I'm running a pretty old version of Excel. It's 2004, and I'm running it on Mac OS 10.5.8. |

Could it be possible to get Neoteny as availebul quality to those infected with immunity(age)
Edit: taking a look at your qualites tab, i guess the answer is no as that would reguire differenting between infcted with that quality and those who dont have it. Propably too much work for little gain, its probaply easier for those that ruly need that to just enable neoteny for infected on that specific copy of the sheet. I guess i should take a look myself first next time before asking stupid questions. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/smile.gif) |

All right, I've built a number of characters on the generator and I have a few comments:
Qualities: It would rock if you could put custom qualities in. For instance, putting the name of the Quality, the page number of the book, the book itself, and the amount. Much like the custom gear section. Currently, if it isn't in the list it can't be done, so anything overlooked or any qualities made for a specific group cannot be done in the generator. Emulate, for instance, is a quality not given a numeric value in Unwired though some players may negotiate one with their GM. Printed character sheets: I love this feature to death, but I noticed a few small problems with my version. First and foremost, the programs, magic, cyberware, complex forms all goes in one square. This means that if you have a ton of programs and cyberware on the side, you often lose text. I think a good solution for this would be a side page for programs (or cyberware) like you have for the Mage. Less clutter, more likely to not lose text without having to tweak the sheet. On the same topic, while there is a pet section I'm not seeing a pet print sheet, which can probably be dealt with in a similar fashion to the vehicle sheet. Further, on character sheet 1 and 2 it correctly identifies what lifestyle has been bought and what Docwagon contract you have. All others automatically say Luxury 1 month and Basic Docwagon. I'm unsure of whether or not I have an older version, but I believe my version has been identified as version k. |

If your using excell thats easy to do, just right lick on the tab-list and select show and then qualities_data from the list, then go to that tab. Now you can add new qualities at the end of the positive and negative qualities lists by right licking over the line number at the left and selection add this adds a new at the end of the list(right lick at the number next to the empty line at the end of positive/negative qualities list) then just give your quality the next availebul index number(one higher then the last quality in that list) the rest of boxes should be pretty easy to figure out. after you have added the qualities you want right lick the quality_data tab and select hide to hide it again. If that wasn't simple enought ask and i try to make it simpler. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif) But considering that it took me longer to write that post then to figure out how to do that(and i dont know much about exel) you should be okay. |
