I knew there was something else i had noticed!

1-The tough as nails quality isnt adding extra physical boxes
2-In the first few rows of the gear sheet, the quantity box doesnt always work. Does nothing for ammunition, but works for SIN's. Havent tried everything in it.
3-Martial arts that add to damage values dont seem to calculate

I checked it myself today, and the debt did not add into the Remaining Money on version 9i.

Alright then (I haven't upgraded since...several versions ago, don't really have a need).

Found another slight hitch. In 9i, the "BP Rank" column for Knowledge skills (Q21:Q101) is in "Text" format instead of "Number" format, basically preventing the BP counter from making the sum of all of them. Using Excel 2007.

In MS Office 2007 SP1 9i produces a runtime error 1004 as soon as I activate the macros. On a first glance most things seem to work though. The checkboxes for the houserules are way off to the right. The the menu so set the true or false values is a nice toch though.

BTW the sheet is coming along nicely, keep up the good work.
I like the new design ithout the borders.

You get free knowledge + language skill points equal to your logic+intuition, this is in the BBB. There is also an optional rule that is usually enabled that gives you free contact points equal to charisma x2. You just need to disable this on the main sheet page.

-Lightning reflexes quality is not adding to reaction at all (should work if no other reaction modifiers present)
-Dracoform attributes for the Sea Drake are adding +2 to agility instead of strength

Using Excel 2000.... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/dead.gif)

What he means is that points spent in knowledge and contacts are *not* counted... at all. This is because the cells for Knowledge skills and Contact attributes are, by default, set to "Text Input" format. Thus, the formula in the BP calculator fails to make the result sum of those cells (since it can't sum up letters with letters, and 2007 refuses to automatically-convert text cells that contain numbers for the purposes of such transformations), and they end up as "free".

The workaround for contacts is to use the drop-down menus for their Loyalty and Connections instead of manually typing a number. The only solution for knowledge is to unprotect the sheet, select all the pertinent cells, and change their format from "Text" to "Number", then re-enter the numbers. Once you've done that with your baseline template sheet, it should be fixed for any and all future edits.

Do not forget to set the decimal to 0 digits. It'll make the numbers visible that way.

Version 9i is available.

http://www.mediafire.com/?yjc2onz1mmj

- Attribute dropdowns now work in Open Office
- Various fixes and additions.
- *Added integrated .xsd for exporting character data from Excel to .xml

I have created a custom .xsd that can be used by Microsoft Excel users for exporting data from the Main_Sheet into an .xml file, and in turn can be used to import the data back in. Look at the commented line above the LEGEND on the Main_Sheet for instructions.

This initial version only works with the data entry portions of the Main_Sheet. I would like the community to test the functionality and verify that the .xsd is working before I go through and create output for the rest of the sheet.

As far as I know, Open Office is not compatible with xsd/xpath for exporting spreadsheet data. If anyone knows a way to do this in Open Office, please share your knowledge with us.

But do not dispair my fellow opensource champions! I believe there is a way to create .xml data from OO spreadsheets:
As I understand it, Open Office .osd files are actually just zipped .xml files, so the best way to export cell data from open office is to write an xslt file, which basically can be used to filter/convert one .xml into another .xml format.

I will research this more and hope to include .xml output functionality in a future chargen release.

A minor error I have found in 9h and 9i. Several skills on the Active Skills drop-down are repeated. Climbing, Disguise, Ritual Spellcasting and Spellcasting all show up twice.
QUOTE (cyberDrake @ Mar 24 2009, 09:55 AM) *
Surges don't give the free points of positive metagenetic qualities. (the number after the slash in the top section of the sheet is correct, but I cannot get the sheet to take from it instead of the general pool of qualities)
Also the Black market Pipelines do not seem to work properly
Knowledge skills do not seem to be accounted for in the top part correctly
Contacts seem to always be free, even with the house rule turned off.
QUOTE (crazyconscript @ Mar 25 2009, 08:31 AM) *
The surge traits still aren't calculating properly, they keep taking out of general qualities. But metagenic improvement being specific is cool, thanks for putting that in!
QUOTE (WhiteReaper @ Mar 26 2009, 03:21 AM) *
on the gear sheet I7 to I11 is linked to D7 , D8 ... indeed of C7, ...
so impact armor of the clothes isn't shown

Fixed.
Fixed.
Fixed.

Also, added a large list of Qualities validation from a list Bobson PMed me.

9j is coming along. Any suggestions on what we should name the 1.0 release of this spreadsheet?

When I choose a language (Or'zet in this case, from the dropdown) and enter a number, the Knowledge/Language tally changes to #N/A, as does the total tally (obviously).

I just noticed the "custom items" part of the Gear section. THANK YOU!!!

[Edit:] Anti-Theft System is costing a flat 6400 instead of (Body*200)

[Edit 2:] I would LOVE a "Notes" section for advanced Lifestyles (and for weapons, and vehicles, and armor, for that matter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nyahnyah.gif)

[Edit 3:] "Vision Enhancement" is misspelled "Vision Enhancment" on the dropdown on the cyberparts screen.

Don't I need macros in order for the sheet to work? I will try again with macros disabled in a couple of hours.

{edit}
just checked, and even with macros disabled, as soon as I select Night One as my race, it crashes.
{/edit}

{re edit}
ok, something must be up with that computer. Tried it on another, and it opened just fine...

One thing I did find was if I select SURGE III I am supposed to be able to take 30BP worth of positive MG qualities, and 15 worth of negative. It just adds the MG to the total qualities, so I end with 60 BP worth of +qualities.

still adding to this post to avoid double posting...

Create a bear shapeshifter with metagenetic improved body, and exceptional attribute body, gives him a body of 15, max this out. make him an adept, magic of 6, and the adept power of improved physical attribute body (>max) of 3. look at the char sheet. damage overflow shows Err:502

born rich and in debt do not seem to function correctly

I've found another small problem: the BBB shotguns are missing.
Thanks for the great work, DamienKnight.
(Is it possible to add, as I requested a bit before, a tickable box which would make some piece of cyberware part of a cybersuite? It would just add a 10% decrease in essence cost and nuyen cost, and some GMs might have a use for that).

Seconded! (And don't forget cyberlimbs if you do add it! - and the fact that individual upgrades need to have boxes too, since some might come with the suite and therefore be cheaper, and some might be added on later)

You can edit the values in the Misc_Data page in the Nuyen column.

In excel 2003 to unhide a page goto 'Format->Sheet->Unhide' then select Misc_Data from the list.

Can cyberlimb components be part of a suite? Does the book specify? If not, what is the community consensus?

As far as I can tell, spells bought with Karma are not calculated in if the character does not use his maximum allotment during BP-Charactergeneration. Maybe you could include a switch like with contacts/specializations.

I don't know if this is planned be implemented but so far it is impossible to remove standard upgrades from vehicles and weapons and free up mod slots

There is nothing stated about this matter in Augmentation, but the provided examples of cybersuites show cybereyes upgrades, so it's a silent nod.
