Just a quick update. RL has crept up on ravensoracle, so he will not be able to join us at this time. Hal Gatlin is truly MIA. In game, his room is empty, but some of his things are still there, and there are signs of a struggle. Looks like Jacob has to fly the ship. Li Kao can co-pilot, but he's nowhere near as good as Jacob. Li Kao also has more than enough leadership skills to be first mate, but he would only act in times of crisis and then go back to being the cook. He would not accept the title of first mate either, preferring that one of the new crew members grows into the role. Being a civilian transport, I do not see an issue.
I'll keep trying to hail Dirtz. Unless something catastrophic happened, I think I know where he is. |

I heard from Dirtz. He's having some RL issues, so his character (Casey Underhill) will be joining us at a later date. Casey will be making a brief guest appearance as an NPC at breakfast.

You can simply quote a post, that contains the code (i.e. the one from Gray above yours) to see how it is done...
In this case you just put... CODE
...text...
...around the text. Bye Thanee |

*ahem*
Forward: For sanities sake, since Fae tends to mix in Japanese curses with the standard Chinese ones, I'll underline Japanese, and italicize Chinese. The two languages are different enough it is usually easy enough to tell the difference when spoke, though her constant switching and other's unfamiliarity with Japanese can lead to confusion. Description: Fae's ancestry is of a great mixing, as is so common in the 'verse. She is a bit taller then average, standing at maybe 5'8" and her skin is a light tan. These traits contrast original thoughts of heritage as her eyes have the slight slant of oriental decent, though with sharp blue irises, combined with the fuller lips of someone more western. Whatever her exact ancestry, it has merged together well in Fae, her brown hair flowing down to the small of her back, framing a face that the most begrudging would call 'cute', and the more smitten would call 'angelic'. Her thin curvy body likewise tends to draw comments in the range of 'fine' to 'damn fine'. What she chooses to cover her body with varies often, though it is usually something that has that perfect mix of revealing to catch the eye, and cover to keep it wondering. Tank tops are a favorite of hers, often leaving her midriff bare. The night before: "Another night, another chikan ahou" Fae stretched languidly, glancing at the clock. At the moment she was lying on a small mattress that had been crammed into the tiny storage area that held her possessions. She really shouldn't be staying in the storage area, but she just liked to rest a bit before each night's adventure. Tonight she slipped into one of her fancier outfits. Nothing to take to a ball, but it wouldn't look out of place where she was going. A half hour later saw Fae at one of the swankier bars in town. It even had a bouncer at the door, the kind that could actually do more then just -look- mean. Still, a small smile, a fluttering of the eyes, and a few seconds later she was sitting at a booth by herself. It was in a corner, but not the shadowy kind, it was the well lit kind, perfect for dai zi to see her. She hadn't ordered anything, having sent the waiter off with a charming wave of the hand, but it was only a few minutes before he returned again with a glass of wine and the corresponding bottle. "Compliments of the gentleman at the table over there." he said, pointing to a large and quite overweight man. Not her type at all, but the sparkle of jewels on his fingers, and golden chains from his pockets suggested he had plenty of money to spare, evident by the rather pricey bottle that had been delivered to her. The man offered her a small wave as he noticed Fae looking at him, it would have been nice if it hadn't been for the pudgy fingers jammed into fine jewelry. Still Fae smiled at him flatteringly without a hint of her personal dislike 'swa ji jie' she thought to herself, her eyes flicking to the seat opposite her in silent invitation. The man getting up, moving, and sitting back down seemed to be a true effort for him, but that just meant that the evening would be all the easier. The wine flowed steadily, though only Fae noticed that it only ever flowed into this man's, Grigor's, glass. A very light sedative in one of his glasses didn't help Grigor either. It wasn't long before Grigor was quite drunk, and quite effectuated with the pretty girl drinking with him. A few sly comments later and Grigor thought it best to see the girl home.. to his home that is. It was a massive house, a mansion by all accounts. Fae never did learn where exactly Grigor's wife was beyond that she wasn't home. She was dead for all the young temptress knew. A shame, blackmail material could be so handy. Grigor was kind enough to give Fae a quick tour of the house, starting with the entrance hall, and leading directly to, and ending in, the master bedroom. Two final glasses of wine hand been carried with them to the room. Grigor sipped lightly at his glass of wine, which had managed to get a small bit of tranquilizer in it somehow, while Fae delicately removed piece after piece of clothing, promises of a sweet night to come. Unfortunately for Grigor, she had barely removed her shirt by the time he succame to the alcohol and drugs. She smiled widely as she finished undressing before sipping down her own untainted wine, and slipping into the large bed, well away from Grigor. In the morning, when Grigor awoke, the night would be a blur, the last thing remembered being Fae removing her shirt, but even that and the conversation leading up to it was blurry. He would find a small note on his bedside table "A lovely night, but I've a shuttle to catch. Maybe next time I'm in town we can 'get together' again." What he wouldn't find is several small pieces of jewelry. Nothing too expensive, and not too much, letting him think he'd just misplaced them. Always best to not draw too much attention to what may have really happened. |

All these pretty things lying about and JJ won't know what to do with himself.
Speaking of JJ here's his night before (finally). More like a memory reel but what the heck? The Night Before JJ lay on his back staring at he rough looking ceiling with the odor of unwashed people and more filling his nose. He was using his old duffle as a pillow. That had gotten him hit a few times before he had realized that most folks on the Rim objected to the Allience military decals. His cane was under his left side in aneffortt to even out his back on the buckled floor. He couldn't belive what had happened. But in retrospect it had happened so easily. He let memory and a small amount of regret fill him. JJ was having fun or so he told himself, Eden Wong was a dish yummy in all the right places and fairly well under his spell. The young woman was kuh ai, but he was having a hard time wrapping his head around the whole monogamy thing. But he had heard plenty of men kept mistresses and there were, of course, the parties. He supposed he could learn to live with it. "Oh there's, Drew!" she chirped. "Ghuh!" called the little princess. JJ watched her run/skip over to a tall, lanky, handsome drink of water that looked suspiciuosly familiar. As the noble drew closer to the now embracing young people he realized why the man seemed familar. He had seen the man before, simply in the standard Allience fatigues and not the uniform dress blues. He had also seen him naked. Ta mah duh, Captain Wong! What were the odds that the two people he had sexed were in fact related. He drew himself up and prepared to deal with the situation. Calm and cool JJ, ku and simple He smiled broadly. "Well, well, Lieutenant Santiago. How nice to see you, have you been entertaining mei-mei?" the uniformed man said. JJ could smell the drink on his breath now. The captain had been out for who knew how long and the state of his mind was questionable at best. "Captain don't be foolish. I only just arrived." The lie came easily to his lips. But the girl was less capable, and infatuated enough with JJ that she was past caring. "Silly boy, you spent the night." She leaned over to her brother and stage whispered conspiratorily. "Now you can't call me a silly virgin anymore" The man's nostrils flared. "What happened to, only you Andrew, you joo fuen chae" JJ was stunned. But the moment was gone. Words unspoken rose to his defense He's drunk. He's lying. He's smoked too much opium. But JJ saw the girl's expresion. She knew her brother was bent. She knew he wouldn't lie to her. She was crushed, "But you said that to me JayJay?" Tears were forming on her face, her makeup beginning to run. Then she ran crying and sobbing her way back up the stairs and into her room. "You'd better go." Sneered the drunken man. "I warned you what would happen if you broke it off with me, kai tze." JJ turned and left. JJ had carefully hidden himself in his room for three days and been praying that his mistake would be overlooked and forgotten. The wedding might or might not be off. Either way he didn't care. The fallout from this would affect his carrer and buisness for years to come however. He paced when he needed to and sat when he was tired. It was a tiring sort of experiance. Late on the third day he had recieved a wave from Admiral Wong himself offering to meet JJ in a park near the admiral's home. JJ accepted hoping he could hoodwink the old man into some kind of forgiveness. JJ arrived in a flitter and didn't have long to wait before the admiral showed up. "I'll get right too it Santiago," Said the admiral. "You have broken my daughters heart and ruined my only son." The admiral clearly didn't know about his son's previous predilictions. "I will never have grandchildren thanks to you." The older man was incensed. "But sir...." "I don't want to hear any of your lies or mi tian gohn." The old man drew a laser pistol from his greatcoat. "You have two options to redeem yourself Santiago, die by your hand or mine." JJ splutered "Sir, this is hardly Earth-that-Was. I mean those sort of things might have been all well and good ages ago, but not now. Can't we reach an agreement?" The old man considered. "Yes, we can agree you are than a cowardly feh feh pi goh." The old man raised the laser pistol and leveled it cooly at JJ's head. JJ saw him pull the trigger and the gun thankfully clicked on the primer charge. The young noble took that as a sign from assorted Heavens to make his leave. The old man cursed his gun and started firing wildly after the runnning youth as JJ climbed into the flitter and got away. JJ sighed deeply, it was amazing to him how much of grudge the old man had left in him. The young man thought for sure he would give up but it was seeming to be more and more unlikely. He tried rolling over and realized that the person who had offered more than just a friendly cuddle was now firmly on top of him. Great I'm going to lose that arm for sure, if this whale doesn't move. He tried poking the person. But even a swift whack was not waking her(him?). JJ sighed again and tried to sleep. Save me from overly moralistic old men. |

Sounds good. I just may post a small novel on my next action I've had so much time to think about it (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)
Also had time to watch through the series again to reacquaint myself with everything. Since we have so many people who like the show, any problems with some little... I guess we could call them games.. more just questions though. For example, favorite episode? Personally I love Jaynestown. Possibly the funniest episode there is, though it ends on a sad note. |
