The Divine Comedy represents 4 floors of a remodeled, reinforced warehouse in downtown LA. It is in a rough neighborhood, with gang presence, as well as it's share of the downtrodden. However, the Comedy is a haven for those with the manners to not start shit.
The lines out front are often long, because the front door is a security checkpoint, walking in scans your PAN for an ID, charges a 15 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) cover, logs your entry, and scans for guns and cyberware(Rating 5 scanner). If someone has not been specifically invited by Jake or the girls, people are asked to leave their guns and ammo in the car, and unload any cyberguns. Otherwise, even the most bristly bladeboy is let in, but his ID already has been flagged as "Potentially dangerous" and he will be easily noticeable by the bouncers using their AR overlays. There are no scans for mages or technomancers, as the Divine Comedy does not discriminate against them, and those scanners ain't cheap. Jake is a legal SINner, and this is a legal club, and any trouble, he will report. If you are on the list, you are allowed to bring in anything as large as a heavy pistol as long as it stays concealed. Steve is not stupid, and will use his discretion as to what you can and cannot bring in. Coming in the main entrance leads you into Purgatory, the club's quite well-manned restaurant. The cuisine is consistantly rated some of the best in the city for a place like this, called "5 star quality in 3 star dishes in a 3 star town, for a 5 star experience". The food's presentation is to the filling and delicious rather to the haughty overpriced works of art cuisine some places serve. The bar is also stocked with some of the best, as well as the most popular brands. Private booths with audio jamming screens provide conversation with resistance to eavesdropping. Jake himself usually bartends from the Purgatory floor, and keeps an eye out for those with special permissions and invitations. The AR here is mostly professional, menus, drink lists, selections of tasteful dining music... Descending from Purgatory leads one through another soundwasher into the Inferno, the Comedy's strip club. Little shame is made in what is given here, women willing to get completely naked on stage and have little reservation in what they will do to themselves with an audience watching. Kink is exceedingly rare, but happens, but a girl might come out on the stage with a guy, another girl, or a toy about every other night. The heads of security here are the twins, Lara and Kara, a pair of ex-runner elves with the skills on the stage, and in kicking someone out. The AR is a dark, smoky interface with profiles and email drops for the girls, as well as tipping accounts. The Comedy is not a gentleman's club, and does not run a prostitution ring...but some of the girls do thing on their own time, and they do call Jake "Big Daddy" to tease him. A charismatic sort might find an invite to the VIP upstairs, if he or she impresses... Coming up one floor from Purgatory is the Paradise, a throbbing, DJed dance floor with multiple AR overlays, social networking, a P2.0 tracker, and a dedicated bar. DJ Doomtrain does a nightly show of throbbing synthbeats mixed with music as varied as old school hiphop to the latest in electronica and metal, and simsense overlays provide mild emotional emphasis to spontaneous video he creates live. He does his job well, and his P2.0 ratings are enviable. Above the dance floor, and accessible by stairs is the VIP, which looks down on the dance floor, but is shielded against the throbbing music enough to hear a whisper or a lover's gasp. Above all this is the apartment Jake and Mei share, it is accessible only by a key-locked command in the elevator, or by a locked stairwell. Those with invites to share shadow data with Jake and the girls are usually brought upstairs to enjoy a meal, and talk in their home. This is not a offer given to just anyone, but people Jake, as a fixer, thinks can be trusted. Let's get this started. |

Pura Brighten, Elven Face
Starting Nuyen: 2,200 Current Nuyen: 13,700 [ Spoiler ] Background - Pura and her brother Sam were raised in Seattle’s Elven District in downtown Seattle by their parent’s executives in a small corp. that did business moving freight between Seattle and the two Elven nations, with many trips taken to both nations. All of the travel gave Pura an interest in what she thought of as traditionally Elven pursuits, sword play, archery, and she and an insatiable appetite for fantasy trids. Six months ago while going out to dinner the family’s car was hit by a speeding truck, killing Pura’s parents and putting her into critical condition, damaging the majority of her organs and putting her into a coma. Pura’s older brother Sam used up the family’s finances putting her back together with a mix of Cyber and Bioware, replacing her damaged eyes and ears with high quality replacements. As a shadow runner Sam knew that a 17 year old Pura with no money left would need a way to make a living, so he borrowed some money to add in ability enhancing ware while they were already doing surgery on Pura. After the surgeries to stabilize her, to repair her injured body, and to enhance her abilities Pura left the hospital in incredible shape and moved in with Sam in his condo in LA. Her body was in incredible shape, the kind of shape that only 185,000¥, can buy and even the scars from the surgery and crash had been removed thanks to a silky skin treatment. Over the course of the next few weeks Sam helped her adjust to the radical changes to her strength and agility as well as the increased sensory input. He also helped introduce her to the shadows, putting her into touch with one of his fixers to hook her up with some of the gear she would need to make a go of it. Update: 28,000 Nuyen added (20k from Jake, 8k from certified credstick) Update: 16,500 Paid to remove Pura's Debt |

Bleh, sorry for double post, but Jake do you have any problems with Mia buying a new ID from her contact with her starting nuyen? Picked up before she arrives at the club that is. Nothing too extreme, just a rating 4 SIN with a fake demolitions license at rating 4.

Isn't optimisation just a DP modifier? Won't help that much with the Stealth program then, since it often acts as treshhold for the system's roll.

Good point. I was meant to have changed that to Analyze, but todays been so busy it skipped my mind entirely.
Although aren't there some situations when you do roll stealth? Regardless Analyze is the better program choice for it as it covers perception and detecting anyone trying to hack the commlink. |

Gecko Parkour, Melee, Water Adept
This is the state of play at the end of the first Phoenix Rising run. I don't know if I can play in the ongoing Phoenix Rising or if it will synch with this game well. I may have to fork him here but we'll see how it goes... [ Spoiler ]

Bleah. I have been working on this character for hours and, finally, there is an end in sight. Well I sat down to finish this about 9 hours ago, but it is finally finished. Except for contacts and a full background. I will go hunt down the blurb I posted in the Recruitment thread and edit it in momentarily. Its 400BP, 50 karma. I hope that is acceptable. If not, let me know and I can cut out the karma. Oh, and 1 item @ Availability 16F. Explained in background, when I write it. Background [ Spoiler ] Sheet [ Spoiler ]

Sounds good, kinda curious about the type of run given our preponderance of faces, and general lack of muscle.

Sounds good, kinda curious about the type of run given our preponderance of faces, and general lack of muscle. Everyone's being a face these days... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) Well, Felice is quite combat-oriented overall, even if she has decent social skills and some other stuff. Bye Thanee |

Despite Ronnie's more... boisterous personality, his face skills are minimal. Hmm... possibly not a good thing with P2.0...

Celeste is certainly not a face. He's a gunbunny, though seriously lacking in IPs (only 1, 2w/jazz)

Fusion does a little of everything, mostly matrix, explosives and social stuff.
Although she does have the edge to play the Mr Lucky game. |

Pura is very focused on being a face with Influence at 5, Glamour, and 7 Cha. She can do very well with Stealth and athletics in general thanks to her 9 in agility. She would do pretty well in a fight with her Predator (15 dice), but its not exactly packing much stopping power, she also only has 2 passess.

Alright, background and sheet are up, just go up a few posts and its all finished.
Wow, Pura can rival Celeste with gun skills. With automatics, his best, he only barely pulls 11 dice, 12 after the first round of combat (he has Reakt...or is it snych that gives that bonus? Anyways, he has both). He is much better at not getting his ass shot off. 11 dice base, plus skill, if applicable. |
