What are the various ways, currently, to increase the Body attribute without resorting to race? Are there ways to pump up that fragile Pixie?
From a super-newbie to 4E, I'll start with: Bioware, Suprathyroid Gland from the BBB p. 339. Of course this either comes after character creation or requires the addition of the Positive Quality of Restricted Gear from Runner's Companion p. 101. How else can poor little tinkerbells get their body up enough to take a hit? |

Bone lacing gives body for purposes of soaking damage, but I think those are your only two options.

Exceptional Attribute, Genetic optimization and Metagenetic Improvement for higher maximum body.
Bone Density Augmentation and Bone Lacing help with the damage resistance tests. Some drugs give a bonus to body. And then there are ofcource the magical buffs. |

Even if your group uses the optional Chrome Critters rule, you'll suffer increased Essence loss from non-delta grade implants except for geneware, so i'd suggest going for Increased Body spells and a sustaining focus.
As your BOD will most likely be 3 or lower, it should be easy to pump it up to modified maximum even with the Lvl.3 sustaining foci available at chargen. You could get Genetic Optimization in addition to that, as even a pixie's augmented BOD maximum isn't that impressive, but in any case, you'd have at least the basic flyswatter problems covered. Of course, following a posession-based tradition could be helpful, too. Or, if yu're an adept, Increased Attribute, but that one's terribly overpriced by RAW. |

If your GM will let you take SURGE for your pixie, you could get level 3, and get toughness (which can be taken as a metagenetic quality) and metagenetic improvement/Body. You can then start out with a soft-maxed Body of 3 that you can raise to 4 later (it's cheaper with Karma). That's actually a pretty decent Body score for a mage, especially for a tiny, flying, nearly-invisible one with a super-high Reaction. If your GM disallows SURGE, you can still get exceptional Attribute/Body and be able to afford the magician quality.

Does this mean fairies heal stun by repeated clapping and that fairies take 10S if someone says "I don't believe in fairies".
