(obscure Douglas Adams quote... can you name the book?)

Oh please

If you had quoted from Dirk Gentley or Last Chance to See, you could of called it obscure.

But a quote from the second book of one of the most popular science fiction series of all time is hardly a challenge.

Here's one for you: "Use the force Luke"

I know it's a toughie, but I think you could do it.

QUOTE (Phaeton)
*sigh* It's kind of hard to find better alternatives when you've gone in and out of a deep though fairly short-lived love interest and also coped with your mom's loss all in one year...

Getting depressed doesn't need a reason. Hanging yourself because you happen to be clinically depressed kills you just as dead. The fact that the world and life in general are complete shit compared to what people expect of it doesn't help.

The point of this thread was pretty much covered. Unless someone can come up with something new. Until then, we'll just keep on rambling until an admin gets bored of the stupid messages and closes it down. :)

Ok, Little schoolgirl and, frankly, an expensive hooker.

Aren't there any OTHER images? :wobble:

It's all good though - funnily enough, the player is active on many other forums and it's "Oh, you can't have a PRETTY troll, just easy to get along with!" from the guys and the female side is "Good luck! Throw up a linkage and/or pic if you're successful!"

Weird - a sharply-defined pro/against opinion adhering to sex.

Let me guess, all elves, even those with a Charisma of 2, are pretty, just b1tch3s and bastards?

What an odd thing to uncover.

Thanks for the images and linkages though - Now I know why I hate the thought of running in the Ogg - The pictures are pretty but the words paint a different story.

Of course. :P

Thing is, a "pretty troll" would mostly be pretty to trolls. The majority of humans will not consider a female 1.5x as tall and 3x as massive as them, with calcium deposits in their skin, hornd on their head, and a jutting jaw with huge teeth, "pretty".

Anyway, "pretty" might be the wrong word, since it adheres mostly to commonly accepted views of beauty. The majority of humans will not consider the troll beautiful, and even trolls might only find her "attractive" -- depending on how much one's appreciation of beauty is linked to one's biology.

If it's mostly a cultural thing (like I think it is), it is unlikely that almost any female trolls would be considered "beautiful" by even a significant minority of metahumanity.

You think finding an attractive female troll is hard? Try finding and attractive female ork, or for that matter any female ork. The only one I know of is in CC. Are female orks just not represented because they are assumed to always be knocked up or something (wow, that's the most racist remark I've made in a long while)?

is there any artwork of nioku? the legendary troll archer. she was probably attractive.

earthdawn 1st edition p121 has a decent looking female tho only a small pic.

also crystal raiders of barsaive p 113 shows a fair piece by jeff laubenstien

another by nelson on p 81

again on p 42 though it looks to ba baxa's work and thus a bit rough

gods, that bloodlore scares me every time i look at it!

scope out the cover of the earthdawn survival guide

denizens II has a couple females in the color plates on p 80

macgougal has a decent silhouette on p 76

sorry, my scanner is packed away, so maybe someone else can get them for you.

You can't go by earthdawn, all the trolls are prettier and less monstrous looking.

SSG p.89 has a good female ork... and not the Prescott-style cartoonishly huge boobies with smiley-faces on them type, either, but one in a more realistic style who manages to look like a person without looking like a human with tusks tacked on as an afterthought.

I've found an attractive male ork. Yet to find a woman, but, then again, aside from a couple of notable elves and humans, I find almost all of the illustrations remarkably ugly, and I tend to not take it as a mark against metahumanity. It's more a point against the Shadowrun illustrators.

Anyway, in 60 years, Fortune, you'll be the first against the wall when the revolution comes. You and all your Humanis buddies.

That's humorous, since I didn't make the original statement, and my usual characters are not humans, but elves. :)

Besides, you'd have to live through the Night of Rage first. :P

I always find it funny that in Shadowrun, usually it's only humans are accused of racism, usually by people that exhibit far more racist tendancies than the person they are incriminating.

Hey, we're talking about wire fetishes in a thread that started off as a stupid idea for a showdown between characters between a movie and an RPG, so why not revive this thread and hope insane...Well, insanity resumes?...Bump...?

Fortune, let me tell you what I mean when I say "Hit that."

When I talk about "hitting it", I'm talking about sex.

Unless I mean y'know, striking...perhaps I should find a less confusing euphemism for sex.
