So our GM came up with our current run to make the Magical assets a little more valuable (currently the Sams are running the show) and to provide some umph to our magical contacts. He made a list and we're going shopping for Telesma. I'll post the list then include my questions at the bottom (I'm mostly posting the list because my GM did an awesome job coming up with it and I want to share cause I are proud of him).

List:

>10 Units of Lapis ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Lapis_lazuli ) about 1kg per unit.

> 100 Units of Rutile ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rutile ) metallic grey in color, about 10 grams per unit.

> 10 Units of Verdigris ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Verdigris ) *ooc: Specifically the kind created by exposure to Acetic Acid*, about 10 grams per unit.

> 10 Units of Madder Root - Rubia Tinctorium ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Rose_madder ) approx 200 grams per unit.

> 10 Units of Gamboge Resin ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Gamboge ) Approx 10 grams per unit.

> 10 Units of Zasavica Death Cap Morel - Amanita phalloides ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Zasavica_(bog) , http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Death_cap ) about 40 grams per unit

> 10 Units of Emerald ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Emerald ) approx 5 grams per unit.

> 10 Units of Indigofera Tinctoria ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Indigofera_ tinctoria ) approx 200 grams per unit.

> 10 Units of Chocineal Insect Eggs ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Cochineal_ Insect ) approx 200 grams per unit

> 10 Units of Murex brandaris, spiny dye-murex ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Murex_brandaris ) mucus, approx 1 Fluid ounce per unit.

> 10 Units of Ivory ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Walrus_ivory ) approx 2.5 kg per unit

> 10 Units of African Blackwood - Dalbergia melanoxylon ( http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/African_Blackwood ) approx 5 kg per unit.

> 5 Units of Golden Boar tusks, approx one male tusk or two female tusks per unit.
GOLDEN BOAR Highly sought after for its magical tusks, the
golden boar is a hoofed mammal averaging 2.2 meters in length, standing approximately a meter tall and weighing approximately 170 kilos. Covered in a coat of gray-brown fur, overlaid with redbrown hair, this omnivore is almost exclusively found in dense forests. It shows aggressiveness only when mating or protecting its young.
Known abilities: Concealment (Personal), Magical Guard (Self Only), Regeneration Notes: Each tusk of a golden boar may be used as the equivalent of 1 unit of material for enchanting that does not require refinement and counts as a virgin telesma. The tusk of a female is equivalent to half a male boar's tusk, so a magician must use two to gain the advantages described above.

Due to these properties and over hunting, the population of wild golden boar has dwindled making them easier to find in special preserves and parazooalogical exhibits than in their native habitat.

> 20 Units of Nova Scorpion Stingers, approx 1 intact stinger per unit.

NOVA SCORPION Approximately 1 meter long, the nova scorpion has a gold-colored body and large pincers. Its tail ends in a large stinger. Several species of scorpions inhabit the same area as the nova scorpion, but they are all much smaller and paler with smaller stingers.

> 10 Units of Volleying Porcupine Quills, approx 20 quills per unit.
VOLLEYING PORCUPINE Nocturnal and solitary, the volleying porcupine
is a large rodent with a body length of 1.1 meters and a 25-centimeter tail. It weighs approximately 14 kilograms and is covered with long, slender white quills and shorter, thicker, black-and-white banded quills. Though not normally aggressive, when threatened it can spray a noxious musk as well as fire its quills short distances in an effort to drive away enemies.

> 10 Units of Glacial Ice (http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/Glacier ) approx 1 cubic meter per unit.

> 2 Units of Giant Glacial Squid - ctenidia membrane, Mesonychoteuthis Psychroteuthis glacialis, approx 1 membrane per unit.

::NOTE:: I've not tested all the links, if they don't work, I'm sorry, I'll try and fix it when I am able.

Now the questions. For gathering the animal reagents, you have to kill by hand. But it mentions that Talisleggers will often trap and dope the prey, then kill it. Can you just Stun bolt them to unconcious then kill them by hand and still retain the power of the reagent?

We're Seattle based. Any ideas where to get some of this stuff? Just some thoughts that pop up. I've got a few of my own, but I'm curious where you all creative crazies may get it.

Alot of this stuff is used for Pigmentation. What do you think this list would be used for? I have some thoughts, and My GM is being fairly coy, but I am again curious to see what you all think.

Doesn't this list intimidate you? It does me.

How would you move 10 Metric Tons of Glacial Ice and where would you get it?

Enjoy.

That's a lot of stuff. Which edition are you using?

I would generally rule "no."

Take a cruise up to the Trans-Polar Aleut. Don't let them catch you on the glacier.

No idea.

The solution to any problem is the careful use of high explosives. Except in talislegging, when you need a mad dwarf with an ice pick and a glacier near the ocean. Ice floats. You can tow it.
