Work is still uber-crazy and we've had a few RL pieces of excitement that have been inhibiting my normal Sunday posting. In any case, I'm hoping my weekends will easy out soon for more consistent posting.

On a personal note, we now have all five of our kids here, so we're going into "Clan of the Cave Bears" mode. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/biggrin.gif)

Everyone seems to be in a holding pattern, waiting to see who does what at the moment. Folks need to make a decision if they're waiting or pushing the issue.

I'll put the ball on mickle, since we're currently waiting on his decision to leave the bar or not, but it's a wierd ball to be carrying. This whole potential situation is excitingly delicate...

For example, in my head I keep varying between the courses of action of just 'meet the guy on our turf and get it on the table' or 'shove the dude in a bag.' Option 2 has appeal, but if someone did it to my character it would not make for a functional team dynamic until there were several murders. Hence, for meta-game reasons I have to keep thinking towards option 1.

But, c'est la vie. I think all of us do the run, so whatever happens will probably work out right.

Mickle - remember, none of us PLAYERS want to kill you. Give us a line, and we can come up with something in character to move us along.

right, right. I know you as players don't wanna murder me, though your far-too-paranoid characters do. I'm totally cool with IC drama.

For a spot o' insight into Dingo's line o' thought: You guys are going to try to murder him quietly. Why else would you refuse to meet in a perfectly neutral and acceptably public meeting place like the pub? Nobody else he's worked with has refused drinks. Particularly when Dingo offered to pay. So, when he does come out of the pub, he's going to be on a hair-trigger for initiative.

As a player, like you guys, I don't want to go into "kill everything and find a new team" mode. As a character, Dingo is rather attached to his skin. *shrugs and grins* heh... cliche as all get out, but the phrase "enemy of my enemy is my friend" comes to mind here. Nothing like a fight to smooth things out, neh? heheh

Unless one o' you decide to do something beforehand, I'll write up something bout leavin' the pub after I get about 8 hours o' sleep.

Actually, Caliph's paranoia about meeting at Dingo's public location is different than that. To help you understand my line of thought:
1. Some dude we don't know traced us.
2. We know where he traced us from, and we're reasonably sure that if he planned us ill, by coming to him early we would screw up his plans.
3. Now he knows he's on to us, and suggested a pub.
4. We don't know if this isn't his contigency spot, evac route, whatever. For all we know, you got peeps at this pub.
5. So, if you're on to another game, we can take you off your home turf by moving you from the spot you designated.

Dingo's response is very natural, and we expect you to have it. We are all counting on you being in full flight or fight mode, even if we met in the bar. So, given that, why on earth would we agree to meet on your turf?

This is kind of fun to RP, just because it's so tricky.

Yea. My first thought was the bar isn't neutral, its home ground.

I'm loving this. I know it isn't much for plot progress, but the tense balance between trust and information in the Shadoes is a hell of a lot of fun to see play out.

I do apologize for my dismal posting rate however. All of our kids are here now (5), so it's more demanding on my time. Thanks for running with it.

because he's figuring that there's a hacker pulling matrix duty for the others, and that said hacker would be curious about a weird action like that, and, after confirming that there's no virus or anything of the sort attached, would look in on it.

Mickle: That's running under the assumption that the team has a hacker with them, which is a big assumption since you were being recruited to be the team's hacker. Keep in mind also that the sweeps Dingo did on his comm showed nothing out of the ordinary. I think you're pushing the metagaming envelope there man.

Someone caught Dingo and tipped them off. *shrugs*I can cut it out of the post if you so desire, though.

Edit: and as to why Dingo doesn't believe it was IC or an Agent: Hubris. No way a simple program could have caught him, in his eyes.

I need some reaction from someonoe to push Caliph's behavior. Either Dingo spots me, or Nix moves in, or something. I can't move caliph up until someone has a chance to respond to the situation.

This weekend is my stink. Military base on the 4th of July, doing security. Ugh.
On top of that, I've got family down for like three weeks.

So everyone is going to the van, yes? Let us proceed.

Try to post up tonight.

Yay! Progress!

BTW, got a copy of 'running wild.' In addition to being potentially highly relevant, I would like to note that building in some capacity to handle paracritters, esp. dogs (and their ilk) is very high on Caliph's character development priorities.
