Quick question -
Do you suffer from Dumpshock if the node you were on crashes, reboots itself or if your connection is terminated? Or do you get Dumpshock only from persona destruction via cybercombat? |

persona combat, jacking out, or if the node your persona originates from is crashed.
from what i gather, dumpshock is a effect of the sudden cutoff from simsense. having a "secondary" node (that is any node other then the node supplying the stats of the persona) crash or cut of connection do not do that, as the sim module of your "primary" node (comlink, nexus, whatever) is still in operation. its a bit like that old statement about suddenly removing the VR goggles (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif) |

We ought to mention that the Jack Out Matrix action is safe from Dumpshock. It's only you are forcefully jacked out that you get Dumpshock.

now thats a interesting change...
so if shit hits the fan, jack out, pull the battery on the comlink and power up the backup 'link to call the team and tell them to go to ground... |

Rather, taking a free action to swap to AR or nothing from full immersion VR is safe. The phrasing of the Black IC rules confused things, since it refers to "jacking out" which actually covers switching modes. Matrix Rules and their lack of coherent terminology, yay. |
