I will be accepting between 4-6 "good" characters with solid concepts.

I have a few simple rules that you must understand and accept before considering submitting (i use these in tabletop):

1. Answer the 20 questions, even if you dont post them or submit them....it provides you a guide
2. Never fudge a result or outright lie, you will get caught eventually.
3. If you cannot make a deadline, please let me know
4. Please make the deadlines, you will be holding up the rest
5. I reserve the right to "possess/control" your PC in the event you miss a deadline, it will not lead to a terminal conclusion.
6. If you miss more than 2 deadlines in a row without contacting me, I will take great dramatic liscence in your death scene.
7. Have fun, if it is no longer fun for you let me know and we can possibly fix it, or you bow out gracefully with no hard feelings either way.

Not so much a rule, but the more effort you put into your PC the better they are.

Books: All are fine although I seem to have misplaced my Augmentation, but sure it will turn up. My Runners Companion arrives tommorrow (confirmed) and I highly recommend it, even if for just the lifestyle aspect.

I'm also getting Ghost Cartels, which is what inspired the game name. While I am not sure I will be using the entirty of the book or just the spinoff hooks, the game will be grim and gritty, so design your concepts around that.

Characters are standard build

Please post concepts first, and I'd prefer a new character not something rehashed from an old game. They never play the same and your expectations are never met, usually due to bad rolls on things you had easily accomplished before.

I'd be interested! I'll have something for you either by tonight or saturday.

I've been itching to play a hougan for the past few months... so this might just be the occasion I was looking for. Unless its not in the game's tone.

Is the "good" in quotes to emphasize that you're expecting morally strong characters, or because of the irony of any shadowrunner being considered "good"? Do you mean it in the moral sense, or the successful sense, or in the "well-put-together" sense?

I'd be interested, but I am running Ghost Cartels as GM for my tabletop group, so I might be too familiar with the plot (depends on how you use that).

Good as in put together well. Morals have never been my strong point (J/K). A well thought out/conceived/planned/put together PC isnt easily discarded I have found. The little details in the end really make the character more playable and enjoyable to play as well as create that "connection".

Thank you for being upfront Fuchs, if I find your character submission to be one i'd like to seen played in the game we'll just have to work hard to keep any leaks from coming forth. I understand that there is a probability that alot of people here have in the least peered within its covers once.

Hougans are fine by me in any game Mister Juan, so submit away.

Thank you for the submission DireRadiant. I will hold any comments about submissions till a later date (when I have more to look at), so that i'm not constantly editting a post or making redundant posts that might be missed by someone.

Here's an idea I've been rolling around, recently. I think having a severely flawed character like this (suffering from gremlins and TLE-x) could be fun (assuming the paralysis effect ends when the stress does), but if you think it would detract from your game, rather than add to it - no hard feelings. Also, if it comes down to there being too many Mystic Adepts, Dire Radiant has dibs.

Also, you mentioned deadlines a lot, but didn't really explain what sort of posting-rate you were hoping for.

I was looking at a minimum of 2 to 3 times a week (ie MWF or Tue/Thurs) that way it becomes readily apparent if someone is missing a post, or provides enough incentive for the player to either post or give me a message on their absence. There wont be any "oh I was waiting for so and so to post". We'll decide the deadlines amongst ourselves as best fits everyones schedules.

This brings me to another thing I may try out. Due to time zones and those pesky things like work or school, where you might not be able to post when you'd like to (to influence the situation, or defuse something) I may institute an Interrupt Action. We can color code it to show its an interrupt. However, the player you are interrupting doesnt need to take your suggestion (which is what your actions or words amount to.) That will be further explored later on closer to the game taking off, or dropped if it isnt plausable.

I'd be interested in playing. I have the urge to play a face type character, some sort of rogue undercover lonestar agent style character. Probably a bioware bunny rather than a pornomancer.

How much background do you want posting up at this stage? A few sentences or more like a few paragraphs?
(Or even a whole character build with BP costings etc)

As much as you think it requires to convey your idea. (ie I have a concept in my head I'm building and I can only describe as: Part Afro Samurai, Samuel L Jackson, and a collage of a bunch of 1970's black-splotation movies. Metatype is Ork and he has contacts with the Blood Brothers gang.) I personally have a good picture of him from that, maybe even others will to I feel as I'm throwing out some concepts that are "known" and not really contradicting.

And, if any of you GM's out there see this, I'd love to play him LOL

Just give me a mental image to work my brain around

Okay. (And isn't Afro Samurai played by Samuel L Jackson?)

The idea is for a male human face, who prefers to fight unarmed and scavenge weapons from people. Kind of like Spike from Cowboy Bebop only with a bioware enhanced body and no spaceship. Sharp suits, chain smoking and light on tech.

SLJ plays Ninja Ninja in it.

Concept: Got it, thanks to the visuals lol (but isnt light on tech contradictory to bioware body? lol)

Bioware isn't tech! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

By low on tech I'm meaning no smartlinked guns and very little which can be hacked or traced. Someone who can walk through a security scanner with little or no worry and collect weapons off anyone on the other side if they need them.

And if memory serves SLJ plays Ninja Ninja /and/ the adult Afro Samurai. (I also checked Wikipedia which seems to agree. Not that you can ever trust it to be entirely accurate...)

Out of interest will you be using any house rules? Or perhaps some of the alternate character creation rules from RC?

Or for that matter banning / restricting any items of gear?

Edit - Ahh I see from the sticky thread it's 400BP standard gen characters.

I was thinking about playing this char (ignore the stats, just backstory & appearance):
http://agency.wikidot.com/chars:tesseract
I'd rework the stats ground-up for this campaign, but the backstory/appearance is a good start.
In short, an Ork street sam with Yakuza and smuggling history. I know you said you don't want old characters, but I haven't played Tes yet, and I really like his concept. I'll put up 20 questions answers when I get through them if you'd like.

Or if you'd rather I work up something totally new, let me know.

You are correct he does play both, but only Ninja Ninja runs his mouth.

Since a game that I thought was dead has now come back to life, and since it's rather... intense, I'm going to bow out of this one. I hate having to choke mid game, so I'd rather not get involved. Nothing against you ChipheadCharley! Hopefully, I'll see you in Down In the Gutter (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Take care yall and have a blast!
