Currently arguing the difference between what runners get paid in the novels that don't have to pay for their own cyberware and gear to that of a pc. What do you think the going price for having the pay data on targets the corps want for medical research, in wich the cure is worth millions. Also performing ... the extraction from a hot facility of rival mega AAA big guns. Were talking a hacker 2 sams and possibly a mage. The snatch and grab is for possibly 10 targets and will require hiring a helo pilot. lemme know so i can get some fellow runner support to help the negotiations. We got the Hez & cappable of Killen so the Nu yen better be spillen .

Worth millions? Probably (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) 100,000 to the group.

Um..all up front since more than likely you'll get killed in the process. AAA-corp zero zone? Wait till the target has to go to his local stuffer shack or something....

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ic.gif) My Team don't roll for less that 500 k, Omae! (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

Seriously though, I'd have to agree with Drago18 if the J isn't offering some jandering coinage. As I end up negotiating for our team I usually watch the Johnson carefully when ever a number is mentioned. a lot of times you can see them running the numbers behind their beady little eyes and it can tip you off as to how much they are willing to pay. if you don't have the skilz for it get one of those pet things. I know a chica who wears hers on a chain. It looks like a dragonfly necklace and as far as I know no one has noticed it yet.

If we are going in hot (as opposed to sly and sneaky like) I try to up the ante to cover any medical expenses. Combat always = ouchies.

Since your talking multiple targets on this one I'd definitely let the J know that this increases the chance of Mr. Murphy showing up and that the expenses will be higher as it will involve more precautionary planning and gear.(multiple med kits in case any target gets injured, ect.)

Other than that, the only thing I can say is if it starts looking like the jobs success ratio is dropping too low for comfort, maybe take a pass on it. (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) isn't much good when your bleeding out on the concrete.

Good luck on the run, Chummer. Hope to hear from you on the flipside.

It depends on whether the eggheads are willing extractees. The price goes up if you have to knock ten guys out and carry them to the chopper. You're being paid as a shadowrunner. You shoot people in the face and you break into sovereign corporate territory. What you aren't is a lifter. If they want the targets carried to the extraction point the price goes up because they're slowing you down and you're more likely to get hosed.

It'd help to have a bit more information about the group, the style of play, etc., to give a decent answer...

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ooc.gif) It really depends on how your group works. My super cautious face-about-town would quickly call off the final part of the meet until he can do more reconn work on both the target and the Johnson. And probably hire a specialized mage who has at least a few social bent spells (Analyze truth is one, detect lies another), before he finalizes the deal. Assuming time isn't a super pressing concern. Mind you my overconfident sammi would get as much money up front as possible and go for it.

Thanks for all the replies guys... should help me smooth over negotiations. We are up and comers with only a few runs under our belts. I would be happy with 15,000 (IMG:style_emoticons/default/nuyen.gif) worth of gear and 5,000 up front and 45,000 on completion. Figured a good way to gear up... and gear instead of money good incentive for the Johnson. We score some gear 15000 a piece and patch the sucking chest wounds up and move on to bigger and better.

In my game, the runners get paid well, but they started off as 500 point characters. They average about 50k each per run. While this may seem to be a Monty Haul, I also screw them over with every chance I can. They pay expensive bribes, get stuff stolen every once in a great while (man, runners HATE that!) if they don't take proper precautions, and if they are using the black market or dealing with someone who KNOWS they are less than jake, the extra fees get piled on. Living on the outside of the system is EXPENSIVE!
It really depends on your game. I likewise didn't have many guidelines when I started, and was using the numbers in Corporate Punishment that I rewoked for SR4, which ended up becoming my baseline. Some of those missions are VERY tough in Corp Pun, so the pay was more. My players still talk about the run on Proteus AG and shudder!

We got the cred we asked for as well as the gear. As far as the Johnson goes we pulled it off without a hitch.
Rest assure he'll be getting his quarterly bonus null perspiration! It Wasn't easy, para critters fn har's spitting APDS and armored to the teeth personel as well as a team of security riggers. If we wouldn't have had an additional team mate with the lebdo's we might not of got out. Between cheese's drones spitting hellfire vanquisher rounds, and quick actions by us two razors on the ground we were able to aquire all data and all 10 extract's. We almost lost our hacker and 1 drone... that being the reason we had to go hot and drop everything with a pulse. Johnson was impressed and believe we'll be receiving some higher paying runs in the future. As soon as our Hacker MiX's neurons un fry I'm sure some program upgrades will be the first thing on the agenda. Keep you guys posted on future runs and thanks again to all of you in the know pros who were willing to help out some up and comers. If your ever in bargain basement surrounded by orks tell em slyde sent cha and you might keep breathing ... ha see ya omae..

(IMG:style_emoticons/default/ic.gif) We ran into a couple of Azzie grunts down south wearing an Infantry Mounted Platform drone. they probably could adapted for para critters.

Just imagine the fun you could have with a pet Hellhound with two MP lasers mounted on its back... (IMG:style_emoticons/default/grinbig.gif)

For others who might ask this same question: it all depends on how many runs you have done in the past and how many of those have been failures.

In the campaign I am playing in, my character has 750 karma, our team has never failed a run, and we ask for 100k minimum each. Plus 50k for expenses though this might go up or down depending on various factors. The more morally grey it becomes, the more unwilling we might be to do a job. We have only turned down a very select few amount of runs in our time.

Also, feel free to create your OWN runs! Want to get a funky super car you spotted in the local rag? Hire your own team or even another SR team to go steal it for you... sure this sometimes throws the GM out on a limb, but its great fun taking charge.

Personally I needed a white lotus from the Mojave desert in order to use it to reduce karma cost for creating a katana weapon focus. After doing some research, I found that it would be no easy task - thus, I collected together a bunch of cash and got my team to help me retrieve it. It cost me 500k (100k to each player; and this was at about 400 karma), but was well worth it as it saved me quite a few karma for bonding.

Have fun, and don't let the johnson get away with daylight robbery!
