Stun Bolts and Elementals

Can Elementals take stun damage? Can the magic spell Stun Bolt affect an Elemental?

The group’s general understanding is that Elemental does not have a stun condition monitor, only physical. But some members of the group believe that a Stun Bolt will cause physical damage to Elemental. So will a Stun Bolt do straight physical damage to an Elemental?

Just want to get the option of other GMs and players. Thanks!

Spirits, of which group the so called elementals or elemental spirits are part, do have a stun track, thus they can take stun damage.
They do not have stun overflow into the physical. When their stun tracks are full they are disrupted.

Reference p. 94 sm

"Disruption
If a spirit in astral or materialized form suffers Physical or Stun damage sufficient to fill its damage track, the spirit is disrupted.
A disrupted spirit returns to its native metaplane and cannot reappear on the astral or physical plane for 28 days minus its Force, with a minimum time of 24 hours. Spirits joined to vessels are only disrupted if they suffer sufficient Physical damage to kill them through damage overflow (see p. 244, SR4). Watchers are never disrupted; knocking them out permanently destroys their fragile energies."

Unless it's an active weapon focus.

In which case it becomes a Magic Weapon, which specifically bypasses "Immunity to Normal Weapons." (IMG:style_emoticons/default/wink.gif)

Why not? Immunity against normal weapons only says that the DV must be higher than the armor, it does not state that the damage must be physical. So a sufficiently strong or skilled character without the capability to inflict physical damage could injure a spirit in hand to hand combat.
